In a new post, because it felt... inappropriate to sully that commemoration with my own little news...
After a lot of work, I can happily report that the next chapter of The Crown of Night is at long last on the verge of publication! Star Swirl's mission in Saddle Arabia continues, as a young and still unknown unicorn wizard must prove himself against powers ancient and cunning if he is to bring his quest to a successful resolution.
Expect to see it very soon, once I manage to wrap my head around it. Star Swirl challenges me in new ways every time, and it takes me a little while to put myself together again afterwards
In other news...
I got my Amazon order of pony books today \o/ I now have all the Mane Six chapter books, Princess Celestia and the Summer of Royal Waves, and the Daring Do box set, all by pony prose producer G.M. Berrow. I've read the Mane Six books before, but... well, now I can do so legally. They are, of course, meant for very young readers, and not exactly complex or profound, but they have a certain charm and sometimes are fascinatingly bizarre. I still can't decide what on earth happened in the Rarity book
My nieces love those chapter books. "SIG! SIG! Read us the pony books again!" they clamour when Significant Other and I visit. I too am puzzled by the Rarity book.
Looking forward to the new Starswirl chapter!

That's sweet. Sadly I have no nieces who are of storytime-age
I think I'm gonna read the Rarity book again after I read the Celestia book, maybe this time I can make sense of it :P
