[Rant] Well, That Turned Out to Be A Bust... · 1:34pm Jun 10th, 2015
As many of you are well aware, I have been very slow in both updating stories and coming out with new ones, and it's been taking a toll on me as well as you guys. My latest story has only received a few ratings on its release (especially compared to my recent slew of crackfics), and even upon updating with a new chapter last night, I have only received a few people who gave a enough of a shit to also give it a try. I can't blame this on you, and I take full responsibility for this.
Life has been far different since starting on FIMFiction, where I had all the free-time and creative excitement to create new stories seemingly on a whim and follow through with them on a regular basis. One college degree and two jobs later, I find myself not only physically wiped, but mentally wiped as well. When I'm not working, I just like to go see a movie or two or catch up on some TV shows that I've picked up. It's something I've begun to look forward to more than writing, to be perfectly honest.
This doesn't necessarily mean my time here on FIMFiction is over (as I'm sure many people on this site wish it to be). I still want to provide reviews for the movies I see and try and write stories, but I don't think I can do it chapter by chapter any longer.
I received a comment on one of my better works, Sparke, about the fate of the story, and I told him about how I thought of prolonging the story but realized that carrying it on would only ruin it. Minus that story, where I will make a final chapter to tie everything together, I will be cancelling all incomplete stories that I just cannot will myself to continue. This includes Attack on Titan: For the Honor of the Princess, Rehabilitation (which shouldn't come as a surprise at this point), MY Sexy Time in Questria (which was only contingent on the now cancelled and deleted Mystquestria, so yeah), The Fart II: The Fart of the Cards (which was something I should have kept as a one-shot crackfic) and The Progression of Sunset Shimmer.
I'll be happy to tell you what I thought of doing in later chapters of those stories if you wish in the comments sections of those stories, (probably not as genuine as reading them yourself), but I don't want you waiting for updates that probably won't come. Sure, seeing the red "Cancelled," button might hit my readers hard, but I think it would be far better than seeing "Incomplete" and waiting day after week after month for the story to finally continue when it won't.
Who knows? I might be just getting tired of the fandom in general. I watched Tommy Oliver's latest video about his cutting his ties with MLP, and it's frankly the reason I'm making this blog. Writing stories feels less fulfilling than three years ago, making Rage Reviews is looking more and more treacherous in the wake of MythrilMoth and The Chase, and the stories I did give the blessing of a favorite from me are probably in the same boat as mine are.
I don't want to quit this fandom; it's certainly a fun escape to come to, and I still like too many people here to up and leave them all of a sudden. I still want to entertain the people who are patient enough to continue following me (if they're even active anymore) and continue writing, but I feel as though it would be best for both me and my readers if I stuck solely to one-shots. This way, I'm still providing content without making false promises of continuation.
I'm not sure if anyone's even made it past this point, so TL;DR: I'm cancelling a bunch of stories I'm never going to finish, and going to stick with movie reviews and one-shots.
Finally, due to some forgotten arrangements in my schedule, I will not be reviewing Dil Dhadakne Do in my next three reviews (which I'm totes sure as shit you're torn up about), and will instead be reviewing Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl in its place. If my schedule doesn't change from this point out, my next reviews after that should be Testament of Youth, Jurassic World, and Inside Out.
Pfft.

What do you think of Tommy reaction? Some people say that he's an hypocrite and his video show how much he never truly liked the show. I think he's just tired of how most of the fanbase is full of drones who will like any kind of crap Hasbro is gonna give them.
