    Sincere Shilling!

If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

Here are five slightly edited old reviews:
The Wreck by JohnPerry
How Lyra Met Bon-Bon by butterscotchsundae
Big MacIntosh's Strange Day by HiddenBrony
The Cough by Ebon Mane
Ponies of Faith by JohnPerry

The Wreck by JohnPerry

This story surprised me, which is good! Had good writing and a good premise. Neither of those were the surprising bits. It wasn’t exactly a mystery, but there is a bit of a grand reveal so I won’t go into details. So I’ll stick to highly recommending this to avoid spoilers. Give this one a read. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

How Lyra Met Bon-Bon by butterscotchsundae

Pretty good, not all that polished. It suffers from the style the author chose. That of Applejack telling the story to the CMC. I’d vaguely recommend this if you don’t mind a somewhat average quality story. If you don’t like Lyra and Bon Bon stories, you won’t like this. If you are merely lukewarm on that relationship, this won’t turn you into a big fan. But if you need a Lyra and Bon Bon fix and you’ve read all the really good ones, you could do worse than consuming this for your hit.

Big MacIntosh's Strange Day by HiddenBrony

This was okay. Writing wanders a bit more than I like. I’d call this another average story, but it’s okay.

The Cough by Ebon Mane
[story link] [my original review]

This was really short. Somewhat effective too, if not quite as emotion-grabbing as it wanted to be. I really like plague/disease as a world ending scenario, in stories I mean. So I would have liked this as a longer story to add context and details. Not sure I’d recommend this one, but I thought the end had a bit impact to it.

Ponies of Faith by JohnPerry

Short and silly slice of life. I’d recommend this, mostly because it’s just long enough to be funny, but not long enough to drag out or even get comfortable

As always, The Big Master Review List is here: { THE MASTER LIST }
If you know of a text-format reviewer I'm not keeping track of, please let me know and I'll see if they meet the criteria to be assimilated into the list.

If you are an author who wants a more detailed review of a story I've covered feel free to message me. My reviews tend to be fairly light, mostly just reactions to a story right after reading it. I am happy to give a more careful read and reply to anyone who wants more precision and/or feedback.
