Sorry for the Delay: News about The Last Vacation · 2:50pm May 25th, 2015
The next chapter of The Last Vacation is being a little delayed. In large part because I'm working on a side-story that explores a pairing that you don't often see.

If you've read Chapter 3, then you know that Flash was a rather big jerk in the untold backstory prior to this one, pulling at Twilight's feelings of not belonging to get her to drop out of the band. It didn't work for long.
Anyway... One of the big things about the way I see the Sirens as opposed to Sunset Shimmer's domination is that for the Sirens, all of the people affected by their songs thought they were doing the right thing, or what they said and did was completely justified. And they remembered it. For Sunset Shimmer, her control was more of a direct mind control, suppress the individual thing. Suffice to say that Flash has been feeling pretty down for the last month or so (in story).
And then comes in Sonata Dusk. I won't tell too much about the story, as that would ruin it, but the two stories do intersect here in the next chapter, however briefly, and I wanted to get that intersection to match up for both sides, so there's less confusion as to what's going on. This is taking a while because the dialog needs to be the same in both stories, but the reactions and perspectives are going to be different and convey different information, and introduce an idea to Twilight that I need to have introduced before the final plot twist: the concept of a crush, and all that implies.
Don't worry, though. Flash isn't going to become a character in The Last Vacation. He's staying on his side of the story, over in Striking the Right Chord. (Working title)
So, that's the reason why the delay for the update. I am working on both, but also on some side-projects at the same time while the intersection percolates.
Well, that's one less ship to see on my bucket list. Now I just wish someone would ship Tirek with Seabreeze. In all seriousness, sounds interesting. I look forward to it.

How could I write romance? Also, I just realized that it would make Seabreeze be cheating on his wife. I'm going to go sit in a corner and wonder what I'm doing with my life.
