Don't Worry, I'm Not Lazy. · 1:12am Apr 20th, 2015
Now, you're all wondering why I haven't done anything for over several months. In a few previous blog posts, I explained some reasons for it. School, work, writers block, et cetera. What I didn't say was the fact that I was having... complications. I was writing. I was still churning out ideas. The problems were my computer, my keyboard, and my phone. The problems with my computer consisted of it shutting down randomly, overheating and freezing up. I found out that it was my GPU overheating due to the fan being clogged by dust and animal hair. I cleaned that out and it runs fine now. The second problem. Before, I had a gaming keyboard, mouse, and headphones, so that I could write while I was playing games. My father left for Washington, taking his computer, which I had been using since he didn't really use it, and all of my gaming stuff.
So I had to use my mothers computer. Her computer, however, is a gamers and writers nightmare. Her keyboard is big, bulky, and the keys stick when you press them too much in a small matter of time, especially her space and backspace key. Her headphones were cheap ones since her gaming headphones broke recently, so they had bad quality sound, and were uncomfortable on your ears. Her mouse is especially a gamers nightmare. At least to me it is. It's a wireless trackball mouse. It's inefficient, it lags, freezes up, loses connection to the computer often, despite still being connected to the computer via USB port, and it drains batteries like a bitch. I despise having to use her computer because of her equipment.
This follows to my next problem, my phone. I have a Moto X phone. Pretty recent tech to me. When I get irritated at my mothers computer, or I don't have access to it, I use my phone to type. This, however, is also annoying. I use Gdocs to write my stories, and my phone doesn't like Gdocs. Every time I start writing on my phone, and I start getting in depth with my chapters, or possibly when I reach a certain word count, my phone starts lagging while I type. What happens is that I will press the keys on the touchscreen keyboard, and I would have to pause so that the keys can be registered, causing me to miss words that are spelled incorrectly, or words that didn't get a space between it.
The only two reliable access points I have are the computers at school, and my sisters computer. The computers at school, however, have firewalls that block some images that I would like to use for thumbnail images, and people always interrupt you as you're writing. They walk past, see you typing, and ask you what you're typing. When I reply, "a story", I hope they are not tone deaf and would hear my sarcasm. But 95% of the time, they ask, " What kind of story?", and I have to go into a summary of the story I'm writing, normally having to take questions and answer them and try to appear nice to them without telling them blantly to go fuck themselves, and end up wasting upwards to twenty minutes. By the time I get writing again, I have to go back to class because my break's up. My sisters computer is the only one I can use to type out my stories at my own pace. Problem with that is that she rarely lets me do anything in her room. She probably thinks I'm fucking with her make-up or some shit, but I honestly don't care.
So, yeah, that's the reason, as well as all the other reasons, besides work now, why I am so slow in getting out new chapters and new stories. Just hold out long enough, and I'll eventually have a flood of updates.
Hopefully.
Maybe...
