I'm happy! After some back-and-forth with the prereaders my story has been accepted by Equestria Daily, and has its own post 
. I'm grateful for all the interest everyone's shown, it's been great fun planning out the story and having a chance to work my artistic muscles. The EQD prereaders have been very helpful in identifying weak points in my writing and helping me improve, I'm very appreciative of the feedback they've provided.

It's taken me longer than I would've liked to finish the second chapter. Between a near-full-time job and trying to finish my thesis, I'm left with little time to actually write. The good news is that chapter 2 has been written and just needs some reviewing, so it shouldn't be too much longer. Hopefully it lives up to expectations.

That's really great, man! The story deserves it for a pretty cool idea.
I been wanting to read that for awhile. But yeah, getting into good stories only to wonder if a new chapter will ever come out is a bit draining over time. Still, congrats! I hope to see a nice good Complete on it someday!
2951489 I'm with you, that's never fun. I've planned most of the story by now, so it's definitely coming out, the question is just how long it'll take :P
I'm expecting somewhere around 10 chapters, probably.
