Do you know the term "wordsmith"?
For me, it invokes the mental image of an author standing in a forge, placing their manuscript on an anvil and hammering away at it.
Do you know what happens if a smith is bad at their craft? The stuff they forge ends up wonky and misshapen.
That's what writing sometimes feels like. Like beating up words for hours and in the end, they still don't look quite right.
Of course, what I'm actually doing is creating electrical signals that cause an analytical engine to flip bits of data.
Why am I telling you this?
First, because I feel like it.
Second, because I'm at the point where I feel my hammering causes the words to go more wonky than less wonky. You know what that means, don't you? It means I'm finally done with the revision. And the chapter.
Right after I post this blog post, I'm going to put up all the changes I've made to the story, and then I'll publish chapter eleven.
Have fun.
Why are you still here? The blog post is done.
Seriously. Nothing to see here.
Are you expecting something to be here? Is it because the blog post is titled 'April Fools'?
Are you expecting some April Fools sillyness?
Okay. Here's your April Fools joke: The blog post is called 'April Fools'.
That's it.
The twist is that there is no twist.
Yes, I'm that lame a person. No, there isn't any point to this. It's called April Fools for a reason, after all.
