Another week another issue. It's almost like some sort of bizarre, consistently timed thing. A "schedule" or something. Yet that can't be, because I never manage to stick to those. Oh well, chalk it up to magic I guess!
This week, the girls help Sunset Shimmer deal with her family relationships, a fic gets removed by the author, and Twilight inadvertently discovers an embarrassing secret about one of her friends.

However you may feel about the Equestria Girls movies, most pony fans will agree that the character of Sunset Shimmer was a highlight to the series and a fun addition to the pony canon overall. As things tend to be for most of our preferred former-baddies, the road to redemption has been more than a tad bumpy for her, and here The Albinocorn explores an aspect of that journey not brought up in EQG or Rainbow Rocks: she's been trying to prove herself to the humans, but what about the ponies on the other side of the mirror? What about the family she left behind?
Since this is an unfinished fic, there is still some story to tell, but what we have so far is an entertaining, intriguing tale as Sunset tries to set things right with both her parents and her sister (who was a surprising choice to have as SS's sibling, but in a weird way it makes sense, you gotta love these types of stories with their interesting familial connections.)
What exactly went down between the sisters that warranted such a falling out, and can Twilight and Rainbow help them mend the bonds when Sunset's sister seems so dead-set on never speaking to her again? This is a good time to jump in on this fic, since there are questions like these still to answer.

Ever inadvertently stumble across the deep, dark secret of one of your close friends? A hidden shame that they keep locked away from the world?
This is a story of what happens when Twilight Sparkle comes across one such thing; a terrible secret that hurts the librarian to even think about. It starts off simply, with her merely noticing her friend acting suspiciously, and as she uses her legendary detective skills to find out more, accidentally blows the whole thing wide open.
Naturally, she tries to help her friend, only to find out that sometimes ponies don’t want to be helped.
There isn’t much about the plot itself I can say without spoiling the entire thing, so I’ll stick to the technique. The characterization is excellent, the grammar is spot-on, and the only negative I can really find are a few formatting errors sprinkled in.
Give it a go.
