So I'm on a bit of a shipping bent lately. If the recent reviews didn't spell it out clearly enough, I've got a pretty big thing going for Sunset Sparkle fics. As a result, I've got an insidious idea in my head begging to be written. So I'm writing it. Kinda of like Celestia Wants to Date Twilight Sparkle I'm going to write (parts of) the story before I publish and some of it's going to be written out of order in terms of story.
As a special treat, though, have a little, teeny tiny snippet from Chapter One.
Sunset leaned her head back. “Noooo, it’s about this weekend actually. Twilight’s coming to visit, and I wanted to make it special for her by—”
“Ooh, ooh, I know this one! You want to take her to a nice dinner! I’ve got tons of connections, I could get you a reservation anywhere! Or! Oooooh, a picnic in the park!” Pinkie dropped her voice to a whisper for her next sentence. “Mrs. Cake would get awfully suspicious if some of her wine disappeared, but I could hook you up!” Pinkie winked. “And candles! We’ve got tons of candles! You may need to bug Rarity for a properly romantic candlestick holder—”
“Pinkie! Not that kind of special!” Sunset shouted as her face glowed red.
“Aw, and I was just about to—”
“Let me finish?”
Pinkie just nodded and smiled like nothing happened, bouncing her head side to side with a cheery grin.

Oh man, if you only knew...
And then you find out that Pinkie wants to date Twilight and is using Sunset as a proxy because she's too good a friend to be jealous but still wants to live out the dream.
