Everfree Northwest (the con with the best writing track) is starting their 2015 writing contest! ^.^
Official details about it here. (You don't have to attend the con to participate in the contest!)
I'll be one of the judges, so if you've ever thought 'Gee, I'd really love it if ocalhoun would read my story. Why won't he read any of my stories?' then now you have a way. ^.^
(And I promise I'll be giving some ratings/reviews to each one. 
Not necessarily positive -- I do have high standards! 
)
And even if you don't care whether I read your story or not, at least they have some nice prizes to win. (But who are we kidding? Getting me to read your story is the real prize. Well... it's at least a lot harder to get! ... I really should read more.)
Anyway, I hope to see lots of good entries there!
Oh, and in case I haven't mentioned it before, I'll be paneling at Everfree NW, in the flesh. ^.^ And it's there I'll first be releasing the results of my extensive feature box analysis. 
Bah... I wish I could make that con. I'll only be able to make BronyCon, TrotCon and (maybe) Midwest Bronyfest. Now if you could go to one of those...

I'll only be able to make it to Everfree. I'm poor, after all.
(Then again, even with unlimited money, I'm not sure I'd want to go to more than one con a year...)
But that's okay. I know not everybody lives close enough.
2842893 The only reason I can go to three is because the head guy for the Pink Eyes printing is rewarding us editors. I just gotta pay for gas to get to the con. Everything else is free

I almost joined EN2014, but I couldn't think of a good idea. Hopefully, inspiration will strike in time for this one.
I won't be able to make it to the con itself, but perhaps I will write something, if I can actually find the time.

I only get 5GB per month, and if I leave skype running, it uses more than 15GB per month.
But skype uses up all my limited bandwidth!

Aargh, I didn't plan on entering the contest, but inspiration just struck. Assuming I can tell the story I want to within that word limit, I'm in. My first story on fimfiction was written for an EFNW contest, so there's a certain nostalgia kick to entering again
