Name Change, that's all . . . · 2:39am Feb 18th, 2015
Yup I figured it was about time I'd changed my name.
Nothing more to say about it.
I like to tag stories too much, don't I?
Seriously though, there's nothing left to say on the subject.
Oho shit, you actually scrolled all the way down here, huh? Well . . . I guess that deserves some kind of reward then . . . Ah, here we go:
“Wha-huh?” Gale Howard mumbled, having just been awoke by an alarm. Oh shit, time to go already? He got up, changed clothes, and packed away the last of his belongings, all while muttering obscenities to no one in particular. “Remind me why the hell I thought driving cross country was a good idea?”
A few minutes later, after he’d finished packing, he stepped out of the motel room he’d rented. Man, it feels wonderful tonight. Gale thought, walking to down his car. As he opening the door with a grunt, he wondered, “Shouldn’t take but a week and a half now.” Sitting down and starting the car he thought to himself. Just a few more days and a few more miles. Turning on the radio and driving out of the motel parking-lot. A few more days ‘till the rest of my life. Jessy, I’m comin’ home.
After several minutes of fiddling with the cassette player, Gale switched to the radio with a huff. “I really need to get this darned thing fixed . . . “ He muttered.
He tuned into a station right as a DJ came on. “And that ladies and gents was The Who’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’ wrapping up the six o’clock roadblock. Remember to tune in tomorrow so you can be caller number five and win concert tickets to see AC/DC’s last tour.” the DJ commented.
That’s too bad, I’ll probably be out of signal range by morning. Gale thought turning onto the interstate headed out of town. Maybe the show’s syndicated, his thoughts continued, making a mental note to try that station the next day as he turned off the radio.
It's the first few paragraphs of the new, and currently unedited, version of From Under The Cork Tree's first chapter. I hope you guys, and or gals like it.
