Here is the deal.
If you followed me "just to". Then do me a favor. Unfollow me. Yeah. That's right. You heard me. Do it.
I have a feeling that around half of my followers followed me because of Secrets Shine Brighter. And, now that the story is done and over with, completely disregard me and the rest of my work. Now that they got what they want, which is an ending(sorta), they find it okay to completely ignore the shit I put out. I know you people are doing it. Do you even know what the follow button is? What it's for? Why not just use the favorite button instead? Why must you mess with my emotions in that way?
Why would you follow me, if you're going to pretend like I don't exist? Honestly.
I'm not trying to act like a stuck-up bitch, nor an entitled asshole. I'm just trying to sort things out. What I'm trying to do is make friends. What I'm trying to do, is write stories that people will read and like. What I'm trying to do is change lives and ways of perception with just a few of the words that I write on this website. What I'm trying to do is make people happy. But. What's the point? I'd rather have 50 followers, full of people who enjoy my writing, interact with me, and don't downright ignore everything I write and every blog post I make, rather than 450 and still feel lonely and forgotten.
I just don't want to be forgotten.
So, in short, if you followed me "just to", then unfollow me. If you don't like the content I put out, then unfollow me. If you have no interest in reading my stories, or looking at my blog posts(assuming you decided to look at this one, miraculously), then please. Do me and you a favor.
If you don't have a reason to follow me, then please press the unfollow button. You're wasting my time, and apparently, I'm wasting yours.

Well, I actually started following you when you released Fantasma (yeah, holy shit, that was some time ago), and from there... basically, I like reading your small one-shots. I find them fairly intriguing, if not a good way to spend some free time.

It is more than obvious that there are a good percentage of my followers who don't. Thank you, though, for reading. It does really mean a lot. I just wish the people who don't like my writing, or are just plain uninterested to please unfollow me.
If you compared my blog and story views to my followers, you'd wonder too.

I ain't unfollowing you, no matter how sweetly you ask! Yeah, I'm being generic and contrived as all hell writing this, but your stories are truly good. Stuff like Sin, 1042:1, and yes even Secrets Shine Brighter are genuinely good stories regardless of whether or not they were literary crimes of passion or premeditated publications. The be all end all is that you are a good author. Please don't let yourself get hung up on bullshit like who follows you and why they follow you cause it'll waste your time and make you unhappy (All my follows are for my avatar or my username. I don't deserve any of them). Just fucking write for yourself and all the (legitimate?) followers will follow.

Such is the way of FiMFic. There are people who actually know how to use the site to their benefit, and others who just like pressing lots of buttons and looking at big numbers. Chin up, anyway. Eventually you'll be able to pick through those 448 followers and recognise the ones who take an active interest in what you're doing.
In any case, I'm sticking around.
But I like following good authors.

2789762 I actually Follow You because of your Secrets Shine Brighter story. I don't understand why people hated the remainder of the chapters but I actually liked it overall.
I will still follow you not because of Secrets Shine Brighter though. It was one of your Great Works and I respect your choice of cancelling it. I stay because I know you will have better works as great as Secrets Shine Brighter.
