Lunarus Solaris Nexus

I write mostly non cannon breaking fanfics that involve no shipping. Most are centered around the military of Equestria so if you like that kind of thing you aren't going to be disappointed

    Still not Dead?

The title means more than you think. I know nobody really says shit on my blogs but may as well put it out. So I was thinking of writing the fic that is eluded to at the end of Out of Time. The war between Griffons and Ponies. I don't know if I should make a prequel where the events that truly lead up to that begin. Lilly's about 3 and Astral's 8 and the Griffon Prince is putting things in place

    I ain't dead! Woo Hoo!

So I'm not dead but I'm VERY busy with turning The Element of Honor into a full blown book of its own. I need to break it down completely and rewrite it. Not to mention make a whole world that isn't related to the MLP universe. Hopefully I can eventually get it published but I'm hardly through chapter 1 and it's been a few weeks. I'm thinking of the world being an arcane steam punk sort of world

    FUTH on Temp Hiatus

I'm having to put Fear Upon the Horizon on hold so I can reboot Why Maids Don't Date the Guards. Yes, that will be getting a reboot. All I'm going to do there is delete all the chapters minus the first then write it again. Differently this time. So be ready for that!

The Element of Honor Review (NO MAJOR SPOILERS) · 12:31am Feb 7th, 2015

Ten-Hut Bronies, I'm Lunar Nexus and due to my schedule, this Fan Fic Friday will be on Friday for both my FimFic and Facebook. And seeing as the whole front page right now is absolutely not PG-13, we'll be looking at another one of TheRedneckRoman16's fan fictions, namely his first one of an seven part series, The Element of Honor. And to be honest that title means, "I hope you didn't just skip to the last book. It means you won't know what each character is so you'll have to read them all!" Jerk.
The Element of Honor
So we open with Lombre Nauseous in a cell for crimes against non Gary Sue-ing and Shining Armor comes in to have him flashback his way through his earlier life. We get his basic cutie mark back story told then the flashback to when he was accepted to the guard and when he still had all four of his legs. He finds himself under the eye of then Sergeant Firebrand from Recasted and meets Storm Cloud, the blandest pony ever conceived. But he's not around for that long so we're not going to talk anymore about him other than he's a pegasus.
So he gets in a fight and is given a warning, despite Firebrand telling Shining Armor to boot his butt out, and he's able to graduate. At the graduation he spills punch on Luna and she thinks that his qualifies him to be her personal guard instead of being deployed to some mountains to the north of Canterlot. Let's face it guy, this isn't how it'd go. Unless she thinks it's best to be guarded by a pile of ash, I don't think you'd be qualified.

The world also seems to be happening in tandem with the cannon of the show. It doesn't really interact with the show's cannon at all except for one very basic levels to, I can only hope, reference a time scale. I do like it because it puts the show at a few years rather than a few months. And that gives a bit more credit to the whole Princess Twilight thing. I'm just sayin', anyone that became a ruler after a few months of just doing around sweet F-A and saving the world would seem a bit too fast. But what do I know!?
Oh and did I mention that in between chapters he just cuts back to present time where Shining Armor just keeps asking the same question about his legs. A very valid question mind you and one he's avoiding like the plague. You don't need to cut back to your boring life every time he asks. No really, every time he asks he gets just hardly closer to the answer than he was before.

"Now that will take much longer to discuss captain."

BULL PUCKY! 'Changelings chopped them off.' DONE! Saddly I feel a recommendation coming so I can't spoil much past that other than Luna saves him and puts him with a pony that can help him build his legs. There's a tone of des ex machina that's mostly constant through it and that break the whole thing for you. But to be fair wondering how he got to where he is in the opening but he's not to engaging as a character. But again, the situations he gets into in the string they're on are mildly interesting. The grammar is even worse than ever but the world that's being built up is kind of well done if not with its fair share of flaws. So what's the verdict? It's harmless and can be enjoyable. I say you should find out why he's in jail for yourself.
