I haven't been touching my story ever since the new year started, and well, Rainbowbob is the reason why (So blame/thanks/throw lemons/ throw bags of nachos at him, ok?). Thanks to his blog, I found out about the more most dangerous game contest, and of course, jumped right into it like the crazy person I was.

19 days later and 12k madly written words later, my story, "Shimmer of Hope" is finished, and submitted just before the clock strikes 12 (or well, 1. Timeszones).

It's...it's been a real experience making something happen like that. I mostly have three people to thank for helping me through all of this.

First is a friend (and not brony) friend of mine, Calico for helping me with bouncing ideas and editing my story, and overall making my whole story better. I know you probably won't read this, but you were a massive help.

Second, is everyone on the writing group IRC, who helped me with making my story presentable in the final few minutes. Guys, thanks a ton. I'm kinda sad Gdocs doesn't have a "Accept all suggestions" feature, it seriously needs it. You guys saved my bacon, without you I wouldn't have been able to accept them all the suggestions I had in my story in time for submitting it. (that, would have been a heart-breaker, gripping defeat from the jaws of victory.). Like always, you guys are awesome.

And the biggest, is KwirkyJ, who is the person responsible for me actually finishing this.

I can't thank you enough man. I wouldn't have been able to finish this without you. I might have created it, but you're the one who helped make it happen. Hell, I could barely write first person past tense, now, I'd say I actually can (to some degree) thanks to you. Picking everything apart and helping me put it back together (and adding stuff that's 10000x more awesome then mine. I seriously need to learn your awesome vocab.)

This whole thing has been a big experience for me, and taught me quite a bit, especially when I'm winging it in fast mode. I'm not happy that I finished this thing 10 minutes before the bell, I honestly wanted to have this thing finished yesterday and spend all of the final day editing and reviewing it, not finishing it 20 minutes before the deadline and getting it good to go beforehand. but... *shrugs* not much I can do about it now. Next time though, I need to ensure that doesn't happen. Deadlines are my biggest weakness, I... have trouble seeing them through.

Infact...when I look at it, I'm kind ashamed at this, but this is literally the second story in my life I've ever completed. The first is literally the first thing I ever wrote, a Resident Evil 4 fanfic of a couple hundred words I wrote for a assignment in high school... 11 years ago. Every other project since then has been incomplete or abandoned, nothing else I can ever say I've fully completed. Finishing this, especially on time means a whole lot to me.

It has taken me 11 freaking years, but I finally, I have finished a second story. It's going to be far from the last. When I finally post thing thing on FimFic, that "Complete" label, it's going to be a badge of honor to me. At the moment, I don't want to post it just yet. I want to edit it some more before I put it on Fimfic. There's some typos and editing I need to do before it's ready for all the world to see.

I hope it ranks high among the stories, I put a lot of sweat and tears into this. It's far from perfect, but it is complete. All in all, I just hope it doesn't rank last. As soon as I submit the Fimfic version of Shimmer of Hope, then I'm going to get back Flash's Demon and that Redeye thing I mentioned before. And if I'm lucky, the quality of them it will increase because of this.

But first, I'm going to dive into the monster hunter 4 demo. I got a demo code from Nintendo, and I am so gonna use it. hopefully, it's some epic fun. I have extra codes, so if Calico can't scratch together a code himself (We both don't think he's signed up for the newsletter when the promotion went out. I'd give one to Kwirky as thanks, but he doesn't have a 3DS) , Calico'll be getting one of my extras so we can do what we did in 3 Ultimate and go on the hunt together. I love those games, so when I don my funky looking giant monster armor, I might not be back for a while (these MMO / addicting games have that effect on me)....And Pokemon Omega Ruby. I really gotta get around to finishing that. I'm almost at the point where I get my legendary. I made the hard choice to put the game away to keep me from playing when I should be writing... which was a very good choice I think... until I then bought Mario Kart 7 a few days later and have been promptly hooked since, greatly slowing me down writing Shimmer of Hope.

So, it's 2:10 am here, and I think I'm gonna go take a shower and go get some sleep. It's been a crazy night, I've pretty much been drinking coffee (I usually don't) and an energy drink to give me the brain power of not getting sleepy and falling asleep to get this done in time. I'm not sure how it's gonna mess up my sleeping tonight, if it does... but sofar, totally worth it. At least I won't have a nightmare about Sci-fi's Helix tonight (which I haven't seen yet). Was quite weird though, the "zombies" kinda humped people instead... or something. Everyone still treated it as really really bad and equal to death, side from the organic things expanding then exploding. That and all the other ****ed up things in my dream scared the crap out of me last night. It was one of those dreams that puts your mind in scared panic mode even after you wake up. I had to watch part of a let's play (of sonic boom) at 3:30 am just to snap my mind out of it.

Alright, well, yea, showertime, bedtime, and I'm gonna have some fun in the morning afternoon when I wake up.
