Why is Tears in the Snow awaiting approval in Nyxdrop?! (Resolved) · 1:46pm Jan 15th, 2015
Okay so I really shouldn't make such a big deal out of this but let me explain. As I was looking at the chapters of Tears in the Snow, I noticed in the list of groups my fanfic has been featured in a group (which I believe is new) called Nyxdrop which features Ship fics of Nyx and Snowdrop. Tears in the Snow hasn't even been approved for it yet but I still have to ask.... Why?! I generally have no problem with this at all, I respect fans and my readers and all but I ask why this group has my story waiting for approval vex's me. I'm not angry at all about this, I find it amusing if not a little bit ridiculous as (sorry to disappoint you Nyxdrop fans) Tears in the Snow is NOT a ship fic. I have no intention of pairing Nyx with a girl at all much less Snowdrop. Tears in the Snow is suppose to be a sad story with a happy ending not a romance novel...
Sorry for this, It's got nothing to do with my frequent blog updates but I thought I'd get this across before it's featured. It annoys me that my stories are being put in groups without my permission. I don't really mind if it's the Peacekeepers, Nyxian Alliance, Past Sins or Snowdrop groups, but a shipping group needs my permission especially when whoever signed my story up for approval in that group assumes I'm going to ship these two characters which I will not mind you.
I wanted to get this out before some body approves it for that shipping group. My story would be out of place there and unless I'm wrong, Shipping means to make them a couple(?) and I have no intention of doing that as I have stated. I doubt this will clear it up but I hope it does because I'd hate seeing comments asking why I didn't make them date or kiss or something like that. Snowdrop is Nyx's friend and that's how it'll stay. Sorry to over-react like this but if it makes my point then that's fine with me.
Update: The problem is fixed now as of the 16th of January 2015 and I bare no ill will toward the group or its members for this slight mistake.
Shipping is putting two characters in a relationship it doesn’t matter what type of relationship. It could be friendship, but we all know that that is never that case. People want to take things farther than friendship in stories in the shipping category to make up for lack of romantic in their life.
I don’t think it is a bad idea to keep your story out of shipping groups.
