Do all lorrikeets go mad at 3am, or just mine?
That's Lorri, the lorrikeet we rescued. Happy, friendly, healthy, friends with the dog and fond of singing his little heart out every night at 3am.
Such an adorable little alarm clock. I almost don't mind having to get up and scratch his head to quiet him down, the feather-headed little blighter.
EDIT: More photos!
how adorable.
Oh, he's precious. If I were you, I would most certainly tire of the 3 am wakeups; perhaps get the little guy a room of his own, or earplugs.

Very adorable. This morning, he decided it was playtime. Seems he's recovered from his ordeal during the bushfires already.
I've never played with a bird before. Been attacked by them, yes. Played with? No. It was a new experience for me. So, how do lorrikeets play? By hiding until your hand enters the cage, then charging at it, shoving their head into it for a rub and chewing your finger. Then they back off and start all over again. Or they run around in circles, puffed up and acting tough before coming back for snuggles.
If I tried to take my hand out of the cage, he'd latch on and chirp at me until I started playing again. I had to wriggle my fingers for him to attack, rub his head, scruff up his neck feathers and generally let him go nuts. Cutest thing ever.
Then, it got even cuter. He latched onto my hand with one leg and his beak, and one of my free fingers was near his tummy. To stir him up, I rubbed it. He flipped onto his back, grabbed my hand with both sets of claws and chewed on my finger, happy as could be.
I stopped, he chucked a tantrum until I played with him again, and I can confirm that rubbing a lorrikeets tummy when it's feeling playful reliably makes them flip over like feathery turtles.
Also, new photos above.
