Seriously, it has been way too long.
It's been, what, over a year now? Admittedly, I haven't been writing the whole time. Although I always had Omega in my thoughts, always thinking about it, there have been whole months where I focused on other things, whether they be videogames, 3d modeling, or music. At one point I even almost gave up on the story altogether, thinking that it had been too long, and that its time had passed. Then my co-author reminded me that we agreed we would never be the kind of inconsiderate bastards that started a story, got people into it, and then cancelled it. So, there's that.
Also, if I was to ever write pony words, it would be within the verse of Omega, and so I do need to finish this before I write anything else anyways.
And we're finally almost there. The groundwork has been laid, everything has been re conceptualized, lots and lots of cool stuff is all set up. I've got new characters, new settings, and everything old has been revamped into something way better. Some major plotholes have been patched up and neatly fixed. I am raring to go, and writing every day.
A few times I've considered making a post announcing my near-readiness (GET HYPE), but always thought it was a bad idea, to raise expectations in case I slacked off again. At this point I think I am near enough to completion to give you lads a sneak peek.
Here is the current draft for the first chapter. It's been edited several times and there probably won't be much changing, but I thought I'd drop it for you lads to look over. Everyone has comment rights. Go wild.
Apologies for the wait. I'm definitely not doing any more rewrites until I finish this story.
Speaking of, here's a New Year's Resolution for you: finish this story.
