Well, I'd like to announce I'm officially starting work on one of my long-planned, much awaited (psssh... yeah, right) stories. Now, I originally mentioned this story in a blog post much earlier in the year. At the time, the story was under the hesitant title Making a Princess... Saving A Kingdom. Terrible, I know.
Now, I never got around to properly writing the story what with school, and, well... school (Also a summer college program that I stupidly signed up for that basically equated to more, harder school during my supposed time off). But, that was before Rainbow Rocks came out.
The movie's brilliant antagonists, the sirens, became a point of interest for me, and efforts to explore their possible origins led to what became the story Eternal.
It wasn't until I had finished writing Eternal did I realize how nicely my perceived backstory for the sirens fit in with what I had planned for my other fic, which I had later retitled Ascension. This, of course, re-sparked my interest in my beloved Celestia & Luna origin story, and with the surprise success of Eternal, I've decided to give it a shot.
Naturally, even beginning work now doesn't mean I'll have Ascension ready to go in a couple days, or even a couple weeks. I'm also constantly drafting new chapters for my pending fics, as everyone has been reminding me to do so (no, none of my stories are dead, not even The Right To Love or Secret Ingredient). And this is on it's own terms a monster of a fic to write and edit. It may be a planned one-shot, but to truly do it justice I'm looking at at least around 7,000 to 10,000 words, probably more towards the upper number.
So, don't get excited, or expect anything quite yet. Just... if you're interested, keep your eyes open for the story. Particularly the several individuals who picked up the hints about Celestia & Luna I left in Eternal and asked if I was planning something there.
