First of all, I should apologize for this being only the second blog I have written since I lost my main internet connection at home. For those wondering, I still remain without stable net, and will remain as such until sometime in the next year, when I hope I have accumulated enough wealth to not only purchase the necessary moden and wireless adapter needed to give my home wi-fi connection, but als to pay for a few mont's worth of net service from an overprized ISP.
So, what's new? Well, still coaching, still busy. Holidays are here, so yay for that. Still writing, even if it is going extremely slow. For those who were left wanting a bit more of the new FN@F story, I have some good news. Two chapters should be coming in the days ahead, and I can safely say they will be something that few expect. Here, have a bit of a taste of what's to come. Keep in mind that this is still technically a work in progress:
"Uncle Jeremy, when are ya going to be done with your shift?" Applejack said as her fetlock grabbed hold of her uncle’s shirt as he passed by the table she sat on.
"Now, now little AJ, have a bit 'o patience,” Jeremy Orange said as he grabbed hold of his niece’s hoof and gently placed it back down on the table. “Just gotta make sure this last birthday party goes without a hitch. Before you know it, we’ll be outa here and back home."
"But that's what you said an hour ago!" Applejack whined. “Why can’t your work be done now?”
Jeremy sighed. "I know I said ‘an hour’ ‘bout an hour ago, but ya know how works goes. Someday, when you have your own lil’ business and are making tons of scratch, you’ll know what I means. Say, why don't you go to the arcade again? I can loan you a couple dozen more bits to play if ya want."
Applejack shook her head. "Nah, played all them games already.”
“How ‘bout the prize corner? Got anything from there yet?”
“Can’t. Marionette fella that hands out the prizes is at the birthday party.” Applejack said.
“Oh, yeah…” Jeremy said. For a second, his eyes glazed over as a few memories involving that marionette flashed before him—most of them rather unpleasant. He blinked a few times, and then turned back to his niece. “Never did like that… thing.”
Applejack’s eyes lit up. “Say, why don't you let me join ya at that birthday party you're supposed to oversee?"
Jeremy’s eyes widened at her niece’s words. He nervously laughed before saying, in as plain as simple a tone as he could, “no.”
“Awww, but why not Uncle Jeremy?” Applejack whinnied.
Because, little AJ, that’s a private affair. Doubt the boss wants yet another little kid to potentially worry ‘bout." He noticed Applejack’s furrowing brow, to which he replied with a hearty laugh and a firm hoof over the shoulder. “Even though we both know darn well that ya can more than take care of number one.” Jeremy did mean that too. Applejack, against all expectations, had made the trek from her home in Ponyville all the way to Manehattan not only in record time—five days, by hoof no less—but had done so all by her lonesome. Not even fully grown ponies could brag about such a feat.
"But it's the last party before the restaurant closes its doors for good! Can I please go?" Applejack continued to plead, giving her uncle her best set of puppy dog eyes.
"No.”
"Please?"
"No.”
"Oh, pretty please!"
“No.”
“I think she should be present,” rang the unexpected voice of Mr. Faz, proprietor of the Fazbear chains of restaurants and COE of Fazzbear entertainment inc. He was present to oversee the closing to his biggest location, Freddy Fazzbear’s Funland. Jeremy turned around to face his boss, lost on how to best reply to the one pony that had paid his bills and fed him for the last two years.
“Mr. Faz… D-didn’t see you there.”
Mr. Faz smiled and gave Jeremy a pat on the shoulder. “Just doing a bit of checking before the party gets into full swing. Couldn’t help but hear your niece wanting to attend the party, and I thought to myself, ‘why not?’ I mean, the more patrons we are able to please today, the better our overall image will be in the long run.”
“But sir,” Jeremy said, scooting closer to his boss’s head. “The bots will be there. What if, you know…”
Mr. Faz smiled. “Nonsense ! Things are going better than expected. Already had a bit of a check-up with the staff, and there doesn’t appear to be signs of trouble. Except for...” Mr. Faz paused for a second, his gaze setting on Applejack. At that, his cheery smile returned. “It’s not important right now. But to answer your question there Ms. Applejack, yes, you may attend the party.”
Applejack eyes lit up with excitement. "Hurray!"
“But with one rule you must follow at all times,” Mr Faz quickly interjected, leaning in close to young Applejack. “Have fun!”
“I will!” Applejack said. She turned to her uncle, stuck out her tongue at him, and took off directly towards party room number three with a skip in her step.
Jeremy turned back to face Mr. Faz, unable to decide if he should glare at his boos, or plead with him to reconsider. In the end, only the pat on his back told him that the decision was made and nothing short of Celestia appearing from the ether to veto Mr. Faz’s approval would change that. In the end, all Jeremy could do was pray that the bots didn’t behave like they did during the night.
“It will be okay,” Mr. Faz said, his smile never fading. “You’ll see.”
“I guess…”
In other news, Harbinger is also in the process of being completed. Only one last part to go though, so yay for that as well. Keep an eye on that as well.
Until I have the good fortune of having my laptop all charged up while visiting the local McDs. Stay frosty.
AT least we get some news from you.
It's lonely with out you around.
