Dude, where's my update? · 5:02pm Oct 31st, 2014
Okay, random movie title reference out of the way, it's time to talk about Diamond's Dusk and why it's taking so long. Well as I said before, the fourth chapter of this story would be tricky because this one, I have to admit, is more of a filler chapter and also introduces our last villain at the end of it. The problem is just writing it in general. I got two parts of it done and I'm close to the end, but it's been difficult to write when you lack motivation, feel tired, or just don't know how to put what you want into words. Thankfully, I know how to end this chapter, so at least the ending will not take too long, at least I hope so.
The other issue is that last week, I began my second class at college. Unlike my other classes where it was a 16 week course, this one is 8 weeks only, so we're moving at a fast rate. Because of how fast this class needs to move, everyone is being assigned homework every night, which turns out to be 3 projects. Two of them are due on the night it's assigned, and the other is due before the next class. So you can imagine just how irritating it can get doing 3 projects in such a short time period. The one good thing about this though is that in class, we got one of the projects done in class and the other 2 we have to do at home. Not to mention that the book tells me what to do step by step. So, yeah, this class is eating up quite a lot of my time.
Aside from that, I'm looking into possibly expanding my work hours since I'm getting very few hours and I need to rework my schedule around. Since Christmas is coming, I need to naturally get more money.
This weekend, I hope to maybe get some writing done and maybe even get close to finishing the new chapter, but no promises. I think my dad has something he wants to do this weekend and, probably, it'll take up a majority of my time because of how much he expects me and my mom and brother to do while he sits on the chair watching TV.
When, or if, I finish the new chapter this weekend, I'll probably put Diamond's Dusk on hiatus for a while. Probably around mid December is when I'll get back into writing it again, but no real promises again. So just be patient and I'll try to get the new chapter out ASAP.
Hey, you don't have to tell me about artistic inspiration and real life BS. I feel for ya. Good luck, bro.
Oh boy, fast track classes are always so difficult. I had one for Algebra 50 and because it was also an online class I ended up getting a D when I'm normally supposed to be good at math.
That reminds me of my IT Essentials and Networking class. The class was designed around three hour classes but was forced to be done in two hours and one of the classes had to be a lecture so the last third (and hardest part) of the class had to be done in the final three weeks of the semester. The only way we could get it done was to come in on weekends to finish everything.
2567408 Actually, your class is the same as mine. I didn't know you took ITE as well.
2567859 It was part of my Diploma in Applied Computing. Most of the class was online Cisco Networking Academy apart from the final third on Windows server 2008 and setting up and managing virtual servers using Hyper-V.
