"Therefore I Won't" Week—Thesis · 8:03pm Oct 11th, 2014
Well, we've reached the conclusion of the week. Five days, five story updates, culminating with the revival of Thesis. And frankly, I don't have a lot that I can add, which wasn't said earlier in the week. This was really all about personal accomplishment for me. I set my personal bar very high with this one, struggled for an eternity on it, finally passed that bar, and submitted. I coulda easily just let this fic, or heck, this account fade into obscurity, but I didn't.
So I'm proud of myself for striving to improve. For my tenacity and drive. For working to compile an entire week's worth of updates: 42,888 new words across 5 different fics. I definitely feel the sense of some mountain climber, finally reaching the top of a cliff. He roughly drops his back down, ass following closely behind, and he lounges back, braced up by an elbow. Feeling the burning sensation slowly drain from his muscles, he inhales deeply of the mountain air, and stares at the sunrise that he fought so hard to witness.
I've been staring at that sunrise for about 25 hours now, give or take, and I have no emotions to describe it. And I don't mean the "wow, I'm so overloaded with joy and euphoria that I can't even—" Not like that. More of the "I am sitting in a high place, witnessing a celestial body... Okay. That is a thing." Just sort of a lack of reaction about the release. The previous paragraph is still totally accurate; I'm very proud of writing it. But uploading it to Fimfic just... happened. And now that's done and it's time to work on Chapter 3 I guess.
Dunno. My thoughts are sort of all over the map. As always, Jaxie was a huge bro about it all, listening to me ramble at him last night, drunk and aimless. (Then again, he always appreciates being the saner of the two of us.) So I'll likely have a follow-up blog in the next few days, sorta summing up my confusing, conflicting thoughts about this week in general.
In the meantime though, I hope you enjoy the latest chapter of Thesis. I put a lot of love into it.
