    The Little Strand That Crosses

The last four years seem like such a blur now, don't they? There was a brief glimpse of clarity in 2020 and then our consciousness was jerked clear into the in-between—disconnected from the gift of life but clearly still present on this side of the page. Will that change? Yes, but maybe not. The rain doesn't stop but sometimes we don't mind being wet. Let's talk about it.

    Yearly Birthday Update?

Well, it's somewhat of a tradition to pop up once a year to proclaim I'm not dead and give an update now, right? Well let's do it then.

Sexy Villain Orgy: New and Old · 4:23am Sep 11th, 2014

I assume most of you who care by now have an idea of how Rainbow Rocks is going to be for you. Some of you hate it, and some of you can't wait. Or maybe everyone hates it. I feel like the general consensus is something like this:

At any rate, one of my favorite bad girls from the show is from the first one: Sunset Shimmer. And we also have an influx of three new villains to drool over in the form of the dazzlings (which I may or may not already have stories started over). At this point in the game, I'm not sure how to feel about it anymore. Let's talk about it after the break.

Where to even start... I assume all of you have checked out all the Rainbow Rocks shorts by now, and if not, I'll be sure to fill you in if you're missing something.

So in the newest shout factory trailer, it's more or less confirmed that Twilight is going to be in Rainbow Rocks by creating her own portal to come back or something. I don't really like this. Part of me was hoping Sunset Shimmer would be the star of the show this time around. I loved her design and hard attitude and cockiness from the last one, and I really wanted to see her character come to life finally, but just like in the trailer, she gets shoved out of the spotlight as everyone flocks to Twilight yet again.

Don't get me wrong, I think Twilight in the show is awesome. She has her funny moments and is generally likeable, but something about her in Eqg just rubbed me the wrong way. Like she was too nice, too uncontroversial. Everyone just automatically liked her after a single song and she was just so... I don't know. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's her shoving mai gurl Sunset out of the spotlight. Whatever it is, the solidification of Twilight's involvement kinda irked me.

Another thing I'm kinda on the fence about is Sunset Shimmer herself. It's pretty much obvious she's been declawed and is trying to be a good girl now, but that does kinda take away from why I liked her in the first place. Even if she does make some damn cute faces now.

Deeper... please...

But, enough of being a downer about it. We can't all get exactly what we want. I'm still excited for the movie, and the flood of new content it's going to bring in. Most of all, I want to see what the deal is with these girls.

We'll meet you in the locker room~

I've been thinking up all kinds of crazy ideas with these three, and I can't wait to see what they actually are, and how they're going to act throughout the movie. I've got a lot of things I want to do with them, and I don't know if I can realistically wait until the movie comes out to abstain from these desires of which the title to this blog may or may not be related to. Hopefully the movie doesn't end up making them some shoehorned villain with no personality that's somehow related to Celestia too. It's not like the writers would ever do something silly like that, right?

I feel I've been going on for too long. To round off the night, here's some of my new favorite ship. I actually sort of requested this through proxy, but here it is, Gilda x Sunset. By the wonderful Gsphere. Go give him all of your love ever for creating one of the most beautiful sights on earth.

My eternal love for anyone who has written a story with this pair.

I think that's all I've got for now. New stories are in the works. Don't know when I'll get to finishing them, but they're coming one of these days. So what do you guys think? Is it going to be the worst thing officially my little pony related since g 3.5? or are we going to be scaring away small children at the local theater just to see it again?

Eh, I'm willing to see how Rainbow Rocks plays out. After all, the first Equestria Girls really wasn't as bad as everyone was fearing it would be, and we were able to turn lemons we got into lemonade. ^_^

On the subject of Ponyverse!Twilight being in the movie again... what rubs me the wrong way about that is that it feels like them bringing her back in is just a desperate attempt to try and convince viewers that Equestria Girls is still pony-related, and not entirely an In Name Only spinoff.

I thought Equestria Girls was horrible, until I've read Long Road to Friendship. Then I've changed my mind, and now I think that Equestria Girls is a not particularly good fanfiction. But it's setting is interesting, and Sunset is awsum. :ajsmug:

The Dazzlings... Eh, I don't know. They look too much like something from Monster High, and I don't like stuff like that. Though, hips. Hips. Hips. :pinkiecrazy:

Maybe they'll handle the Twilight thing well, maybe not. I can't say I've ever been completely disappointed with anything in the show (excluding a few spike episodes), so I doubt I'll be too devastated with her inclusion.

I've heard the "monster high" complaint about them a lot recently, so I decided to check out what it was. In a few words, it was awful. From what little I watched, it seemed like a cheap advertisement without much effort put into it. The only comparison I might make with that would be the girls' mostly purple and green color scheme. Otherwise I'd say I'd watch equestria girls any day.

I love your captions.

Heh, and I thought I was writing those for just my amusement. :rainbowwild:

Funnily enough, I agree on all points. The only thing the show has ever produced that I've been thoroughly unimpressed with is Spike at your Service. I'm willing to keep an open mind about the Twilight thing.
