There's No Business like Show Business: Chapter 28 Release! · 4:10am Sep 1st, 2014
Here we are with the release of Chapter 28 to Equestria: A History Revealed!
Covering the Nightmare Moon incident of the pilot episode! This stuff provides a new understanding of how that episode's events reallyy went down. With Loose Change as your guide, this should just be a simple re-tread of the pilot's stuff, right?
Right?
Chapter 28: The Elements of Harmony II – Resurgence of Illusion
Check it out!
Now I know that some parts of canon are blatantly ignored by Loose Change. But think of it like before. Loose Change would ignore stuff of the in-universe's history. The only difference is that now, for the parts from the show, we already have a clear understanding of the history that Loose Change is altering. This also means there might be fewer "official asides" and history-building from actual academic sources (because we, the readers, already know most of the history behind this stuff), but don't think that there won't be any more citations!
Remember that when it comes to the canon parts, it's written under the guise of a pony who doesn't have the whole story. The details we know to be true from watching the show are just an afterthought to her, replaced with her own theories.
But I do try to make it so that in a somewhat logical way, her theories do make sense with what she knows (while keeping in mind that the details of the show's events aren't always public knowledge in-universe).
Think of Loose Change's analysis of the show like a background pony who only catches glimpses of the historical events of the show, and tries to make sense out of it using conspiracy theorist logic. A lot of her "revelations" are going to be wrong, and we know it.
The fun comes when you compare what she thinks she knows with what we know to be the truth, and see how exactly she came to her conclusions. Because as I mentioned, these conclusions aren't pulled out of nowhere, they do come from some (twisted) form of logic that fits her understanding of the world. And that's what makes it all the more entertaining to read!
