Work progresses! (Plus preview, plus other thing) · 12:27pm Aug 31st, 2014
So I finally got past the part of the chapter that's been writers' blocking at me (what are you talking about that's totally a verb) and the rest of it I mostly know how it's supposed to go. At this rate I should have the chapter finished by the end of the year! hopefully much sooner than that.
So this is another one of those ill-fated attempts to let you guys know that it's in progress, so that I will feel more inspired to continue because I've said that I will, pressure, honesty, fulfilling promises, etc etc etc you know how it is.
So, to give you guys something at least, I could give you a tiny preview...

“Like this?” Rainbow Dash watched as the alicorn prince before him concentrated for a split second, as if trying to remember which limbs to use, before unfurling the wings to their full expanse.
Even as a mare, Twilight’s wings were enormous, larger than most stallions’; but this… the only ones even vaguely comparable to that expanse were the princesses themselves. Rainbow Dash stared - maybe it was an Alicorn thing, or just being so close to him on the cloud, but those wings somehow seemed large enough to blot out half the world...
Take from that whatever you will... Heh heh heh.

However, even regardless of this, I haven't been completely without productivity lately. Those of you who saw my last blog entry saw many other stories, one of which (Little Deceptions) I have now managed to write up and is currently with my editor for looking over... I'm still not 100% sold on it yet but it might be ready to come out soon. (If anyone else feels enthusiastic enough to take on a bit of editing/idea bouncing work for that, One of Those Days, or anything else, I'm open to expanding my current team of one, btw.)
But if you want something a bit more immediate than that, I recently started reading through prompt collabs... which then naturally leads to contributing to prompt collabs. So far I've written up something for the Twidance collab - so if you want to know what I've been working on instead of OotD and you're a Twi/Cadance fan, you can check that out.
If you don't ship Twidance, don't worry, neither do I. And I'm a lot better at dark than I am at romance. Keep that in mind, then check it out anyway. =D
I've also posted something on the Twiluna thread (which at current rate of posting should make it into the actual collab story sometime mid next year) and have plans for a Twilestia or two (ditto), because ship all the princesses. But for the moment, I'm on a bit of a roll with OotD, and that should definitely be my #1 priority :)
...Or sleep. Sleep is probably a better #1 priority right now.
Darn and other adjectives....
I'm writing the distaff story as we speak, and I've gotten half-way through Applejack and Dusk Shine (and Dusk Shine showing a stallion/boy trait of adding more to things...).
One of the comments that is going into the story title/info is that this story and "One Of These Days" are parallel but not perpendicular. They're close enough to swap chalk for cheese. Or to cry pardon.
Still, waiting with baited breath...
