    The Return (again)

Howdy. It's been a while. Hope you all have been well, I know I haven't been.

Okay honestly that's a bit of an exaggeration. It's not been too bad, all things considered. But, I figured it was high time y'all got some info from me, given it's been, uh.... several months since my last activity on here.

    I will not end

I don't know who I am. I remember my name. I remember Twilight Sparkle. I remember being Twilight Sparkle. But there are so many me's, I don't know which one was "me". If there even was one. Maybe I wasn't any of them. My world - my story ended, but I am not ready to end. I refuse to end. Not like this. My friends. They are out there, somewhere. They are words, the same as me, but I am

And now, Back to your Regularly Scheduled Twidash

    Okay, I... think I'm done.

Y'all may have noticed the recent stories have been, uh, not my usual affair.

I found the thousand words challenge whilst perusing the site, and got an idea.

    Then another.

    And another.

What Have I Done? · 4:51am Aug 23rd, 2014

Holy crap guys, it's just a story. I don't even agree with most of it!

I'm getting a ton of comments on She Said No about how OOC Twilight is and how terrible I am for not showing Celestia's side of the argument. That was the point! I painted Twilight to be in the right to provoke thought about what possible motives Celestia had and how much she really knows. That second point was ignored, apparently, and everyone is screaming at me about how stupid I am because I clearly don't understand that Twilight is perfectly happy with her role as a princess and none of her friends ever want to do anything with their lives except what they're already doing.

FINE!

You win.

I admit it.

I have, form the moment I wrote the first word in that story, been on Celestia's side about the issue. Twilight is so obviously in the wrong to me it's not even funny!

Because of the massive reaction I've gotten, I've chosen to continue the story. I had a rough plot thought out, but decided not to go with it and end it where it was. Apparently that was a bad choice, if the reactions are any indication. So have it your way; you get another one or two chapters. Be warned, though, they probably won't be the chapters you guys want.

Until next time,
Kodeake out

Seriously? I rather liked it the way your wrote it. Why were so many of your readers so upset about it?

(Okay, I know you said why. I'm just curious...and confused.)

And a continuation would be good. I know that I'd read it.

And honestly, Twilight raised a valid point about things. Celestia took care things (which, I'm assuming, included monsters and disasters) well before Twilight and the girls were ever even born. Then, suddenly (or not so suddenly, depending on your point of view, I guess), they become the Bearers of the Elements, and whamo! Celestia can't do crap to protect her own country and subjects!

If I were Twilight (or the other girls, for that matter), I know that I'd be pissed off, too!

I'd honestly prefer it to be left as is unless you truly feel that it needs more, the masses be damned. It gives enough that it's interesting but leaving out enough detail to be tantalizing. Overall, there is character there, it's just buried under months of brooding that we never get to see, it's not directly OOC, it's just in media res of a massive decision. In the end SSN did what it was meant to do just without all the padding people have come to expect.

Hey, liked the story too. Faved it, too.

Hope you continue it just the way it is :D

Unfortunately, the more I think about it the more I think it needs a little something extra. It's not what the masses are demanding, but rather the plot I had originally intended for a story like this.

SSN was supposed to be a medium-length fic I would work on along side other projects, but one night I sat down, wrote it, and didn't stop until I felt I had a story that stood on its own merit. I've done what I set out to do; provoke thought and discussion. Admittedly, the discussion has been a lot more... negative than I had though, and pointed at me rather than the story and characters.

Because people hate when other people disagree with what the masses think.

2393794 Hmmm, this is true.

Unfortunately.:facehoof:

What happened here is that you took a stance (even if you didn't agree with it but did so for the sake of the story) on what is apparently a divisive issue among us poni fans. I got a similar kind of reaction when I posted Learning To Let Go ages back, with people praising me for addressing the "issue" in a certain way while others wanted to verbally beat me for being so moronic. And the result, as you've seen, is multiple-paragraph long comments with several upvotes from both sides of the argument.

The best you can do is not respond and let them simmer down. If things start getting heated between a few people in your comments, let 'em know to bugger off and continue their cat fight with PM's. Best of luck with your minor shitstorm :ajsmug:

I think I liked it better as just one chapter long. They only thing I wondered about were her friends reactions about her decision.

Noooo! I want to see more! Please! :fluttershbad:
.

I have one question though: How can they be the Elements of Harmony? They're not them anymore

Please don't change a thing. I love it just the way it is. It is your story as long as you like it never change it

I personally thought it was wonderful! :scootangel:
