A Canterlot Wedding 10 Year Anniversary

I said in my last blog I might make some classic brony content, and I did!!! I've been experimenting with shorts lately. Out side of my nerd opinion rants and video essays I find the shorts a good way to making AMV style content without getting copyright flagged and Youtube even lets you sample certain sounds from other videos and artist but only for 15, seconds. One of the Naruto music shorts I

    I'm now a committed YouTuber

I was thinking about blogging about it for a while. I do apologies for never finishing any of the many stories I wrote. I just lost my spark and my drive after collage and struggled to motivate myself. But now I'm doing gaming and pop culture commentary on YouTube, trying to get monetized so I don't have to work at Home Depo anymore. I'm doing interviewers, reviewing that poorly written Halo

    Stand For Our Flag

Regardless of your views on President Trump, he is absolutely right on this issue. National Sports should be about unity, and disrespecting the flag only divides us and insults our men/women in uniforms. You can protest racial injustice without lumping the flag into it or politicizing a sport.

Keep on writing.

2383887 guess that all I can do I guess  The worst I can do is give up after coming so far.

2383891 My gosh your right. That's funny.

Keep it going!

The fact that you have a small doubt in your heart, is a sign that you are doing great so far. It shows that you want to improve, that you want to strive to get better, and that you are making a story for people.

See, I always believe that a great artist, will never see his art as perfect or great, no matter what the other people will say.

Let me tell you something, I once (back when I was 13 mind you) wrote a 45 page Sonic and everything crossover and it was crap! But, I deined it, calling it perfect, never listening to other's advice about how to improve. And I never did, but now, I do look at my stuff and ssay I want to perfect that, there is a miskake I need to fix.

Your doubts are just showing that you are growing, that you are willing to listen and improve. Just don't give up. We, your fans and the others reading, will love what you bring out, no matter what.

Keep writing. Having these feelings means that you are improving as a writer.

Always keep on going. You've only failed when you stop trying. Consider that even the professionals who are able to write as their day job also have their off days and their blocks. What separates them from others is that they keep trying, every day, to work on their craft.

And it is work. Some days, you love it and everything is magic and the words just flow from the aether and choirs of angels sing and everything is wonderful goodness and light and fluffy bunnies. And then some days it fights you tooth and claw and you think everything sucks.

That's normal! Writing is hard, yo!

edit to add: Some doubt is good. Too much isn't - that's when you get into stuff like Imposter Syndrome.

The other thing about writing I have learned is that you are going to do a LOT of editing. Editing is awesome. Love it. Embrace it. Recruit others to give your stuff another look. Every edit is going to refine your idea and sculpt it like a bonsai tree or a sculpture or some other metaphor of that nature :raritywink:

Writing is *very* seldom a perfect construct on the first draft, and the folks who can do that have likely edited their thoughts before it even made it to their word processor - and even then, that's not going to be 100% of the book. Not by far. So take heart! You are in good company! And continue :)

2384035 That's very encouraging. I guess it's good to have doubts, but I shouldn't let them stop me from going forward. I'm going to prove that EqD was wrong about this story, and weave a tale it something fantastic. But more than anything, I'm will right for myself, and because I love Equestria and MLP, and all of there colorful characters so much. Will try and get a short chapter done soon. Already started writing today.

I just want to say...you are an inspiration to me and I hope to be one day as good as you...:pinkiesad2:

2384669 Then it's all been worth it. One of my biggest dreams was to inspire people the way I've been inspired. You don't know how happy your comment just made me feel.

Only bad artists have no doubts. I doubt every fic I've ever written. Still do. It never comes out as beautifully in words as it appears in my head.

But ya know what? Giving up, leaving the story unfinished, or just writing an ending so you're done with it... that's the worst thing you can do. It's far worse than giving it your best shot and coming up short.

You'll never write it perfect. Perfection is a mirage in the desert, always retreating when you get close. Just do the best you can, and edit edit edit!

2384739 im glad I could help! ^^

2385003 That's all you can do I suppose. And this is story I've always been a hell bent on finishing. Even if some people don't like the choices I've made, it would be a crime to come this far and stop.

Doubting your skills means you are aware of the fact you can still improve and learn. Eventually, that doubt will become smaller as your confidence in your capabilities grow, often becoming more clear when you begin to look back at what you've accomplished with your now more experienced eyes. But don't ever let that feeling of confidence cause you to forget that you can still learn.

Don't bash yourself too hard or think you can't deliver, it will only make your life unnecessarily more stressful. But if you must have some kind of bash, get from a source that knows more than you do. That way, when they are telling where your flaws are at, you can at least know what to work on next instead of worrying about what is and isn't wrong. Knowing your direction is important, and a great way to get out of whatever place or funk you are currently at.

Good luck with the mood
