I should be writing software right now, not fan fiction. The grammar rules are so much simpler.

    Science!

    Alright, everypony,

I'm conducting a research project in the field of language processing, and I need data. What kind of data? Well, I need writing samples that include the initial unedited draft, and the final draft after.

No BronyCon for me this year =(

    :fluttershbad:

It bums me out that I'm not going this year. Not because I don't have the time, I should have been able to make it... just that other factors kept me from going.

Stupid money... Costs a bit to get out there and back =(

    Writing time

I'm going to try something different. Work has been consuming my free time but if I budget about an hour every morning after I get up to write I think I can start getting traction on some of the stories I have outstanding. And a few stories I started but never posted the first chapter to because I wanted to mostly finish it before I started posting.

Everfree Northwest decompression post (a few days behind everyone else) · 8:19am Jul 11th, 2014

Hey everyone!

It took me a few days longer to decompress due to monday being bday and work.

Everfree Northwest was a blast this year! By far the best part of the con for me was the writers room. The writers hangout was really fun, and the panels they had there were interesting. In addition to that I met a bunch of fun and interesting people there.

So here is the only photo of me that I know of from Everfree this year. As you can see, Cadance and Shining Armor really love my work, and are in the process of trying to kill me before I finish.

I met so many wonderful people at the con, and I’m really looking forward to what BronyCon will be like later this month. SPark, Flint Sparks, wdeleon, -Hidden Identity-, Piquo Pie, Xepher, GaryOak, Bookish Delight, Super Trampoline, BronyWriter and many others. I think I might have missed a few in that list and I apologize for that. I’ll take better notes next time. :twilightblush:

It was funny running into Flint Sparks for the first time. He recognized me from my homepage and that totally caught me off guard. So far that’s only happened twice. The first time that happened it was a friend of mine who didn’t know I was SirRage.

GrayOak recommended the book The Elements of Style. It’s actually pretty cheap and it’s not that long either. I’m still reading it, so I’m sure I’m still breaking some of the rules covered by the book.

Meeting SPark for the first time was a lot of fun too. She was constantly sewing while in the writing room, which doesn’t surprise me. She has been constantly working on stuff while on IRC. Still, it was nice seeing her in person; and that she didn’t have to put up with my creative spelling for a weekend (I’m a phonetic speller so English can be tricky at times).

I could go on for a long time about these wonderful people. They're all so talented and it was a blast hanging out with them. I’m really looking forward to doing this again next year, and BronyCon as well at the end of the month!

Oh my gosh, you're going to BronyCon too?

Good meeting you, sir! I'm glad you had fun, too. I hope you're finding The Elements of Style enlightening. You don't have to follow it to a T once you've mastered the rules, but it will certainly help clean up your prose a lot. :pinkiehappy:

Oh, yes, and thanks to Dusk Watch being a total baller, see you at Bronycon!

I may or may not be doing any more cons this year after BronyCon, we'll just have to see.

Indeed!

Well, it would be nice to visit Canada for more than just an hour, like I did when I visited Niagara Falls some years back.

Funny thing is my roommate is Canadian, and a brony too. So who knows.

Was fun meeting you, glad you enjoyed the con, and it seems, the writing track!

Indeed it was. The writing track was a lot of fun!
