I should be writing software right now, not fan fiction. The grammar rules are so much simpler.

    Science!

    Alright, everypony,

I'm conducting a research project in the field of language processing, and I need data. What kind of data? Well, I need writing samples that include the initial unedited draft, and the final draft after.

No BronyCon for me this year =(

    :fluttershbad:

It bums me out that I'm not going this year. Not because I don't have the time, I should have been able to make it... just that other factors kept me from going.

Stupid money... Costs a bit to get out there and back =(

    Writing time

I'm going to try something different. Work has been consuming my free time but if I budget about an hour every morning after I get up to write I think I can start getting traction on some of the stories I have outstanding. And a few stories I started but never posted the first chapter to because I wanted to mostly finish it before I started posting.

So that there are no spoilers...

This is just my opinion, but I feel like the Crusaders would have gotten their cutie marks much like how everyone would have expected: Sweetiebell with singing, Applebloom with construction or potions and Scootaloo with her scooter if they never meet or formed the CMC. They had their predefined skillet that they were good at from the beginning, but it wasn't what they were passionate about. They built who it was they wanted to be, and it wasn't what they were originally good at. So I thought that was a powerful message. We see a little bit of that in some of the other characters, like Rarity, but none of them struggled as much as the Crusaders did with figuring out what their passion and purpose was.

I also wanted to take a moment to mention that I really liked Dimond Tiara's arc and character development. I originally liked MLP because of their redemption arcs, and it's been a while since I've seen one. So that was very welcome. It was good to see how Diamond was struggling with her own battles and how it was shaping her to be a pony she didn't want to be.

SilverSpoon leaving Diamond was also quite a bit of a shock, but I really liked how it turned out.
