Congrats! Q1: Because of the last chapter, I'm wondering if Sunburst is actually a silly pony out of duty, or if it's just a reference.
Q2: If Rade seriously comes from the Old Equestrian times, how in the world is he still alive?
2267563 A1. Sunburst is 100% a rough and tough guard through and through.
She doesn't have any friends and is more or less a complete loner. That doesn't mean she can't work with others though or else she'd never have been able to become the guard captain, only that she prefers not to. She is devoted entirely to her work and her outlook on life is actually very negative. This being said though Sunburst has very good reasons for being the way she is. (Reasons I'll eventually write as its own one shot so keep an eye out) Truthfully Sunburst is rather jealous of Rade as she would give anything to forget her past. Rade will eventually become the first friend she's ever had... that doesn't betray her anyway.
A2. Rade is... special. More so than even he himself currently knows. I can't tell much without spoiling the story though.

Is Smart Cookie the reincarnation of Smart Cookie?
2267740 I'm actually very on the fence about that. Sometimes I think that would be a great idea while other times I don't. I know Smart Cookie will play a part throughout the series and that she will have a very pivotal role in due time, but whether or not she's a reincarnation will play heavily into how that moment works. As a result I'll probably be arguing with myself about it right up until that part of the story gets written.

Smart Cookie isn't someone suited for army or in this case, guard. You said (or written) that she is more nerdy type. So why she is in guard?
The Fourth Question:
Sunburst seems to be a very serious kind of pony. I wonder why she decided to trust Rade. (I know that Cadence said what she said, but I want to hear what Sunburst side of story).
2269801 1. No Willow doesn't have a mate. But she will have a love interest eventually.
2. Because Fez's are cool... and he got one as a gift from a friend in his past who left a big impact on him, though of course he doesn't remember them at the moment.
3. Smart Cookie is in the guard for multiple reasons. The main one being pressure from her family who have been guards for generations with her being an only child and thus the only one who can carry on the tradition. That being said though she'd not completely UNSUITED for being in the guard. Notice I haven't mentioned her cutie mark or special talent yet. There's a reason for that!
4. Sunburst will eventually get her own one-shot to explain her back story!
