I'd call myself a fanfic writer, if I wasn't too busy horsing around!

    Season 5 Retrospective

Right, so it's been a month since I last checked in, and at that time I said I'd write a couple blog posts. Well, the holiday season came at me like a ton of bricks, what with its real-life obligations and so forth. I wish I had been able to put some time aside for writing, but I'm honestly pretty bad about that. But that's all over and I have more free time than usual. So, like I said last time,

    Update: All the Things

Hello. It's been a while. Too long, in fact. I've had some long pauses between my stories, or any other kind of artistic endeavors I've gone on. It's a problem. I want to get back into writing, and I want to finish up this monster of a story that's just become huge and crazy and equal parts fun and frustrating, for myself and for anybody that's been waiting. I like to pretend I'm

WTG Week 3 / "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone"

Okay, I'm more than aware I'm a small fry on FimFiction with basically zero notoriety or fame (E-fame? Internet illustriousness?), but I said I'd write something for the Writer's Training Grounds for Week 3, and I didn't. And it's worth mentioning why, at least. I could blame a bunch of stuff for preventing me -- I had a final, a job interview, my workplace is undergoing structural changes, one

Double Feature: "Just an Accident" Fic / "Make New Friends" Episode Follow-up!

So to continue my tradition and bad habit of writing more blog posts than stories, but also to somehow cut down on the number of posts I make, I'd like to talk about both my new story for EQD's Writer's Training Grounds, Just an Accident, as well as Saturday's episode, Make New Friends but Keep Discord!

Whatcha gonna do, brony, when the WTG gallops wild on you?

Hello there, pony peoples! It's not very late here in Southern California, but I'm incredibly wiped like you wouldn't believe. Finals are coming up, I'm dealing with crazy changes at work that are much too long to get into, and three days ago I saw the newest edition of the Writer's Training Grounds on

Basically, the title's the situation in a nutshell! But here's whats going down. It's all good news too, so don't flip or anything, m'kay?

When Kickin' Flanks got featured on EQD and the massive (okay, massive by my standards) outpouring of favorites and views came in, I really decided to put my hoof down and get this done. There's a new and completed chapter being read by my proofreader, and I'm even at least a fourth of the way through the following chapter, and that's basically a record for me. I've also been working on my outline to keep more on point, because the unreleased & finished portion actually kind of bucked me up. I also didn't fully crystallize some of my ideas and now a major amount of my daily thought processes have been devoted to ironing out the kinks. Point is, you're going to actually get more things to read! Heck, I even have a few follow-up ideas floating about, but honestly I can't promise much more at this early of a time than sheer intent.

Also, a word of warning: as the completed new chapter stands, there's a really weird interpretation of a certain character. It's most likely original (I sure haven't seen anything like it), it's funny (at least I hope so!), but it's also just radically different. If the idea manages to stay, I just want you all to understand that I've got an angle with it, and as a joke it'll develop and hit the punchline as the story progresses. In fact, it even might connect back to what I was saying about follow-up ideas. I'm probably just being super paranoid, but it would make me feel significantly better if minds were open about what's about to happen next, okay?

Righto, that's everything. I'm really on the edge of my seat right now, and I hope you are too.
