That game is hard and slow trying to finish a match in a reasonable amount of time will result in you losing, it is a game about turtleing.
I completely sucked at the micro and managed to win just by expanding as far as I could, building up a huge stack of crap, and eventually wearing down the computer. I never felt like I really understood the strategy though.
2221903 Maybe that's it, I have a tendency to inadvertently turtle in RTS games just because there's so much to worry about that I never get around to attacking. And sins was even worse with the slowly burning lines of death from propaganda and the pirates and everything.
2222068 The way you were playing the game is kinda the best way to play the game, the defenceive tech is so crazy strong you need to mass up for a long time before you have any chance at all of successfully attacking anything.
