Okay where to start? Much like Scootaloo learning to fly, a/the crusaders earning their cutie marks is one of those stories that just has to be told. So I'm sure the idea isn't new and probably told better from others.
But this is what I came up with, and until the show gives us the actual cutie mark story for Scoots this is the story I'm running with.
Also worth note that I didn't actually mean to write this story just yet but after the disaster of a 'short story' my last attempt was I figured I had to try again at writing a short story and this one was the only on I had that only had one event item on the to-do list so I figured it was the best chance for coming in under 10K words.
Edit: note: for those keeping track, now that the show gave us the official cutie mark story for the crusaders I'm isolating this story in it's own universe. Even outside of my default lore universe as I like to keep my lore universe as compatible with the show as possible and this story really isn't necessary to anything I had planed. So If I ever write a story set late in/after session 5 you can bet I'll be using the cutie marks from the show.
