Divergences: a (partial) list of ways I've destroyed canon... · 2:29pm Jun 7th, 2014

...or at least ways in which this sort-of-'verse has changed from it. It's not as if I just burned the actual series bible, y'know.

To make a contribution to Sind's recently-founded Triptych Continuum Group, I created a long post -- over 4k words -- which reviewed, broke down, summarized, and in a few cases, added to the things I've been trying to establish across the stories. Sind asked me to link it up here, for those who might be curious. I'm doing so. The other option was a very large paste.

Warning: there are spoilers ahead, especially for those who haven't been through everything-to-date, and that goes double on Triptych. I also included a few minor treats for those who've been there all the way, bits and pieces from my own notes which haven't come out anywhere else. Approach at your own risk.

So if you want to review, take a chance on the new, or just have another place to scream at me, here it is:

So much changes, so much stays the same.

And with that done, back to checking my Nyquil supply.

...You have a user image O_O

Really. :derpytongue2: That's what gets a comment. :facehoof:

I saw it on Mediaite this morning and thought I'd try it out just to prove it was possible to get something from a news article Comments section other than a desperate wish for human extinction. It's temporary. Probably. I mean, in theory, I might receive the wished-for one from Roman Candle at some point, but I probably just scared hir off. But until/unless that happens, it won't hurt to occasionally host one for a while.

Reality continues. Adjust. :raritywink:

ETA: And I was using Sind's orange-eyes creation before that. I'm not sure most people noticed.

It is a notable development, and easy to comment on :derpytongue2: though just so it's said, I do know that your old user picture was, in fact, a user picture rather than the absence of one.

I'd like to be able to come up with insightful and witty commentary on everything I read, and you'd think that seven years in lit studies would have prepared me for commenting on other people's work, but sadly this does not seem to be the case :facehoof: I can post "this was really interesting" on everything (and it really is), but, well, that would be boring and repetitive :P

It's a pretty picture, though. Shiny...

Whoever made it did a horrible job with the rescaling, though.

For reference, here is the original pic =P

edit: bleh. quoted Estee twice instead of both Estee and Daedelean. I wonder if Daedelean gets a notification this way(probably not...)

I did swap for your cleanup job, for whatever that's worth. I didn't really pay attention to the scaling at the time... Mediaite avatars are very small. Also, getting too close to the image means potentially reading some of the comments and learning things like 'Every crime in history has been committed by or is the cause of whichever political party I am not personally endorsing.'

Read too many of those before breakfast and human extinction starts to feel like the kind option.

And thus my secret affiliation to the Flutterdash group was revealed. :derpytongue2:

Quick question Estee, since this is as good of a place as any to ask this, who made the cover image for Triptych?

2187375
I did not.
The comment notification system is... odd. Also trying to reply to comments in earlier chapters of stories always makes me uncertain if the commenter gets the notification, since it's so easy to reply on the main story page rather than the specific chapter, and then that comments gets posted to the latest chapter instead... =|

All will bow before FlutterDash. The twin powers of awesome and adorable will bring the world to its knees. As their first decree, online comment sections will be thrown into digital volcanoes and burn in hellfiber.

And here I thought you guys where all about the FlitterShy :V (/s)

(Too bad about the notification thing, btw, but what can ye do)

I do however now wonder how nutritious hellfiber would be =P

2190779
As nutrition, it's terrible, but it carries trillions of spam e-mails and troll comments every day :(

I should really put that in the main story description text instead of leaving it to keep scrolling down the Comments thread -- and will while I'm composing this. The piece is from GroaningGreyAgony.
