The first chapter of my latest story is out! A String Wedding is the sequel to Proposal in C Major.
I started planning A String Wedding long before Proposal in C Major was even finished. I debated for a while on whether to lump them together into a single story or not, and finally decided against it. There’s enough of a time difference between the two events that I felt putting them together would’ve been too jarring for the reader.
Finding cover art for Proposal couldn’t have been easier. The whole story primarily a reaction to one scene in The Best Night Ever, so a screen cap from the episode itself made perfect sense. For Wedding on the other hand, finding art to fit the story was a challenge. I finally decided to pull out all the stops and pay for a commission. I got in touch with Ruffu, and this amazing piece was the result:
Ironically, the Wedding’s cover art was ready before the actual story. I originally planned on publishing the story’s four chapters one at a time, maybe one or two days apart. When I saw the finished (and gorgeous) cover art show up on EQD, I decided I’d better get that first chapter up and be quick about it. I’ll still shoot for a few days between chapters, but that schedule isn’t guaranteed. I’m still writing the final chapter and my lovely beta reader deserves a break.
