For the part about uploading art for your stories, isn't there a 'Cover Art' section when you want to edit your story? Just click on the 'Edit' button and scroll down, it should be there. You can upload an art from your computer/laptop directly or from the net by copy and pasting the url.
Also about having your own bio, go to the page that says 'Edit Account' and scroll down. There should be a column that says 'Personal Information'. There you can write your bio.
