season finale & a theory on Equestrian deities · 1:45am May 11th, 2014
all I have to say on the finale:
HOLY SHIT
that battle was amazing, I also love the fact that they rebooted an old villain, moving on.
before I talk about my theory, I would like to make some things clear:
1. I am not, nor have I ever been, religious.
2. Having said that, I do like the symbolism of the 'old world' religions, when I say old world religions I refer to religions such as Norse, Celtic Pagan/Wiccan, Egyptian, etc.
3. Pagan/Wiccan is not Satanism, period.
4. I respect people regardless of whether they are religious or not,
are we clear... good?... ok.
it is my theory that the gods of Equestria have a hierarchy of sorts, it starts at the top with the high gods/goddesses, of which there are three:
1. Fantasia: Goddess of imagination and creation, essentially the Alicorn that people use to represent Lauren Faust, has the power create new beings on a whim, Celestia and Luna are her daughters, not through birth, but through creation.
2. Tempus: God of time and destiny, comparable to the idea of 'Father Time', has the power to manipulate timelines and alter destinies of individuals, can see into the future, but cannot physically change outcomes, only 'nudge' them in the 'right', an ageing blue Alicorn with a white mane.
3. Anima: Goddess of nature and new life, comparable to the 'Green man', controls the forests, woods, and all creatures living inside, resembles an Alicorn made out of plant life, much like an Ent from the lord of the rings series resembles a giant man made out of a tree.
next are the lesser gods and goddesses, whilst there are too many to write about here, here are some more notable Gods and Goddesses:
Stridskämpe 'The Warrior': God of war, often depicted as a mighty armoured Griffin wielding a spiked war-hammer.
Ngofaint 'The Blacksmith': God of forges and smithing, often depicted as a Minotaur, responsible for rafting the weapons and amour of the other gods.
Spellvirki 'The Trickster': Goddess of mischief and trickery, often depicted as a six legged, four winged, changeling with limitless shape-shifting abilities.
M'ganga 'The Shaman': Goddess of healing, often depicted as a Zebrican Shaman.
Discord: God of chaos and entropy.
Celestia: Goddess of the Sun.
Luna: Goddess of the Moon, the Stars and dreams.
Mulciber: God of fire and volcanoes, often depicted as a colossal Dragon made of lava and stone (a similar style to this)
Nightmare Moon 'the fallen goddess': Goddess of shadows and nightmares, now struck down and imprisoned in Tartarus for trying to bring about eternal night
Very cool, but did you make most of them up?
