Avril Lavigne's "Hello Kitty": Love It or Hate It? · 1:56am May 8th, 2014
Apparently, this music video has been sparking a lot of controversy with reactions spanning anywhere from "THAT'S RACIST" to "I Like It".
Personally, I was meh about the whole video but I'll admit that I found parts of it to be catchy. I can kinda see why some people could see it as racist but I've also heard arguments that this was Avril Lavigne's shout out to her Asian fans so I guess it all comes down to subjectivity. And considering the other types of music videos spawned from both America and Asia ("Gentlemen" and "Wrecking Ball", for instance), this music video seems like one of the tamer ones.
It's still pretty weird and crazy.
So which camp do the rest of you fall into? Love it? Hate it? Meh?
I thought the video was taken off of Youtube for being racist.
As for my thoughts on it, it looks like if Pinkie Pie went on an acid trip. I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
I don't see how it's racist though. I'll have to consult a second opinion: my sister the sociologist who's an "expert" on these types of things.

Now, for some reason, I have this scenario in my head that if Pinkie Pie became a villain and began leading a Pinkie Pie army through Canterlot this would be the villain song she'd be singing as she led her army through the city.
...My imagination goes to strange places sometimes.

That comes as a total and complete surprise to me. Who would have thunk it?
