In fanfiction, I am working on the third and likely final part of "Buck Wild", then "Past, Present, and Future" will resume until I solidly piece together the next part of "Heat of the Night".
Trade Ya was a cute episode, but for an ensemble, it was very RainbowShy heavy. The Pinklight and Rarijack sections were brought up and resolved in roughly 4 minutes apiece, with the rest being Rainbow's furious trading sidequest.Funny stuff throughout, and adorableness frequently, but not exactlly an ensemble...
Though this does bring up one question. How does Princess Twilight uphold what is basically indentured servitude? Can ponies really trade other ponies for goods? Is this how Pinkie Pie came to work/live at Sugarcube Corner seemingly for nothing in return? So many possibilities...
Also "Conception II" is weird... funny, but weird. It's basically a "Persona" game with all the dark undertones stripped out and replaced with a lighthearted sense of humor. Though I think they might have overcomplicated the heck out of the battle system. The opening tutorials are coming at you constantly for the first three hours, from both the characters' explanations and pop-up menu tutorials, some of them even covering the same topics all over again. And frankly all of this almost seems futile since even the HP and MP bars are so fancified and tiny in the cluttered screen that I often lose track of who is where and how many stats they have. And God help me if I'm trying to figure out which Star Child is which class just from the menu portraits...
Maybe I'll get used to it, but geeze... There comes a point where you have to cut back on this stuff, guys.
Well, Fluttershy did kind of agree.
Ah good I'm not the only one playing Conception.
On the subject of indentured servitude in Equestria, I have one thing to say: the phrase, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth," is canon as of Suited for Success. Take that to mean what you will.
