Not really.
More than a year since updating. That is a thing. Apparently so is college. My course load tends to spiral out of control at the most inopportune times. That and an unholy combination of Dota 2, Dark Souls 2, Titanfall, Deus Ex, and my own obsessive perfectionism. I cannot write half a sentence without feeling that I could do better. Plus in retrospect, my first few chapters really were not that good. Perfunctory, high-school level sentences with mostly one-dimensional characters driven by the plot, rather than the other way around. After maybe one more chapter, I will be doing mass revisions of my earlier work. No big plot alterations, just improvements. Some better character interaction, etc.
Fear not, I have not cancelled the story, nor do I ever intend to. I have kept you all waiting long enough. Got some spare time this weekend, so if we are all extraordinarily lucky, you shall have a new installment this month.
Keep buggering on.
Wow when it rains it pours. You are the 5th author to give a blog on a long dormant story. Looks like I'll be adding another one to the list I'll be reading again from the beginning soon.
I think I already said this half a year ago....
But its a horrible practice to actually strive for 'perfect'.
It ain't gonna happen. And then you keep trying for it, and its like you said, you can't even get a sentence done.
My advice? Don't use your opinion for a situation like this.
Have a few pre-readers whom you trust give their opinions on what you write.
Because at this point it seems you are in the situation of trying to break through a wall labeled 'perfect', only to find another one once you break through.

I agree with thefluffyone. Just get it onto the page, don't worry about it being perfect. From what I've been told from acquainted authors, it's a much greater crime to let your words go unwritten than it is to have them written terribly.

Whilst this story is one of my favorite crossover stories (the other being 'Ork In Equestria' by Mago5), I'm beginning to wonder if anything here may get updated.
I've found with my own story here, it's easier to just type out what you have done so far, and label the chapter as 'incomplete'. Just getting stuck in will often break the deadlock. Thankfully fimfiction allows things to be modified (and after comparing my first upload of my own fanfic with how it reads now I'm more than thankful for that).
Here's hoping this story will continue.
As for keeping it 'canon plausible', just say it's set at a certain point in the series.

Good to hear. But with no updates in so long readers are beginning to give up hope of this story continuing.

I'll be updating my own story before too long. Been doing a hand written draft version of the next chapter, although it's far from finished.
Just wish I had this guy's writing skill level...
