Just in case anybody misinterpreted that line, no, my story has not been cancelled, nor do I ever intend to cancel it, despite what my extensive periods of inactivity might lead people to believe. Unfortunately I have not made nearly as much progress as desired on my next chapter, which remains at about 75% completion.
The biggest share of blame definitely goes to my workload from multiple classes of math, physics, and engineering, but also Dark Souls, Dota 2, Halo 4, discovering Megas XLR, finally reading A Song of Ice and Fire... the list goes on.
The truth is, I am really just a slow writer. Sure, I spend a lot of time reading, but that just lets me mimic the style of better authors. Dialogue is difficult for me to write without sounding like needless infodump. I repeatedly question my own story decisions and search for plot holes. And when Season 4 hits, I just have to pray to the Emperor that I do not get hit with massive canon contradictions (yes I am one of those writers that obsess over making my work canonically feasible).
Plus, I have been rereading some of my earlier chapters, and I realised just how much my writing ability has changed, and how bad those first 3-4 chapters seem in comparison to my newer work (new being an extremely relative term). They honestly felt like the work of a well-read 16 year old (which they technically were I suppose), but not it a good way. Thus, I have decided that, after completing my current chapter, I will be going back into previous chapters for extensive revisions. No major plot details will be altered, at least not drastically. Chapters will be extended with more description, backstory, and character interactions. I definitely feel like I could have introduced my OC Ultramarines better, and improved the pacing of these chapters as well.
On an unrelated note, Courage and Honour and Friendship will not be my sole foray into fanfiction here. I have several other ideas kicking around, one of which is looking increasingly plausible. It shall be another crossover, but that is as much as I want to say for now.
You all have my sincerest apologies for the wait. I feel terrible for making you all wait so long, and I humbly ask for your forgiveness.
In summary, work is ongoing, new chapter will be completed before 2014, expect revisions, and new story on the horizon.

Don't worry. We can be patient. Take as much time as you can. The emperor commands their troopers to be at their best after all!
Dude, I've seen this happen to so many authors here, dont think you're less because you have stuff to do. Frig, all you good authors who get stuck like this need a support group or something.
I'll say take your time, but make some time too. Or find whatever gave you the writing magic in the first place. or both. ya, both.
