I don't write, so much as I perform acts of high-wire fiction without a net. Come watch me fall! I believe in narrative coincidence, the transcendent power of hopeful creativity, and the Oxford Comma.

Recommended Reading (Fanfic Spotlight) · 9:18pm Apr 10th, 2014

I've recently been asked to write up a weekly series for Everfree Northwest, spotlighting stories loved and recommended by the staff of EFNW. The first edition of the Fanfic Spotlight just went up a few minutes ago! I encourage everyone to check it out, both because my own ego would thank you for it, and because you might find something cool to read too. Also, make sure to follow the official EFNW Fimfic account if you want to stay up to date with convention news, as well as writing contests, and other related stuff (like this new series I'm doing.) Even if you're not attending the convention itself, there's a lot you can be involved in.

Okay, sales-droid mode: disengaged! On a personal note, I'll be at BABScon next week, as mentioned previously. Also as mentioned, I'll be looking to meet up with anyone else that plans to attend. I'll be on fimfic regularly at the con, and try to PM those of you that want to meet up (or responded to my last post on this) as soon as I get checked into my hotel on Thursday.

In less exciting news... Odds are I won't have the next chapter of The Hole In The Sun done by the time I leave for BABScon. My apologies for that, but as you can see, been busy with other pony-fic related stuff, and real life is keeping me busy as well. Almost all good stuff though. So yay!

Oooh, starting strong. I've read two of the three and if those are anything to go by I expect to thoroughly enjoy the third.

I'll see you at Babscon!

1997986 Yeah, I directly remember you suggesting Bradel's "Curious Incident" and I'm (obviously) quite glad you did. I'm pretty sure you were one of many recommendations I saw for "The Celestial Mechanics" as well, and deservedly so. Hope you do enjoy Augie's story as well.

Mechanics was actually the one that was out of left field for me, but it was quite a read. Princess ponies are best ponies.

You've accidentally invited a recommendation from me:

True Colors, a fantasy/slice-of-life with bits of science in. Original characters and original setting, I call it "MLP original fic" (and think that's a good thing), but consider myself bad at "selling" it.

2012125 I took your suggestion and read True Colors on the flight to BABSCon a few hours ago. It's a pretty good story, and I really like how (as someone familiar with the science of optics) I can see what's coming, but still love seeing exactly how that's translated to Equestria.

I'm certain I should be replying to this, but I'm not sure how to do so. My instinct is to go all ":pinkiehappy:squeee!", but it's not my story, so I don't think that's quite appropriate.

So you get this semicoherent expression of pleasure instead.
