So, I have this older brother, and he was quite surprised to hear that I was a brony, though I had to explain to him what one was because he'd never heard of us or the show. Eventually, he learned that I write fanfiction. To my great surprise, he said he wanted to hear it. He's familiar with my original work, so he knows that I generally don't write things that suck. I've kept him up to date with everything I've published here, at his request, but he'd never seen the show. Until now.
He'd expressed some interest in seeing it, mostly because the world that was portrayed in my fics struck him as really, really weird. A few days ago, he finally got around to seeing the first three episodes. Sadly, he was so drunk that he didn't remember anything except for a purple pony going, "The Elements of Harmony," and the others nodding along and being all like, "Oh, yeah, of course, we knew that," which never actually happens. He also seemed horrified at the system of government, and was under the distinct impression that everypony was being oppressed by a totalitarian dictator.
Anyway, he and I blazed through the first season the night before last (this time much less drunk). He was surprised to find that it wasn't bad, and we'll be going on into season 2 pretty soon. He's not into it enough to call himself a fan, but he does enjoy the show. He also wants to see more so he can actually understand everything I write about. So, yeah.
