This is a blog. Blog is short for "web log" joining the two words at the end of weB and then just tacking on LOG. Blog. It's an interesting word with clear etymology. It didn't exist ten years ago or so, maybe a few more. Like so many interesting words you will find on this site. Brony is one of these words as well. It runs rampant through the site, but also did not exist more than a few years ago. Brony is an interesting word in that it has a few different origins.
It likely started in the /c/ section of 4chan. It is an amalgamation of the words "bro" and "pony". Bro is short or slang for the word "brother". Pony is a small horse. Once people on the /b/ section of 4chan caught on to the whole brony thing, they began to write the word as /b/rony. The collective of /c/ then began to call themselves /c/olts. I don't really know what happened to /c/olts, but ultimately brony stuck and colts did not. Maybe they still exist in the far reaches of 4chan, somewhere safe and warm. We can only hope.
As for what I am doing here, I'm not rightly sure myself. Am I a brony? Perhaps. At the moment I believe I simply have a fondness for the show and the characters. Since November of 2010. And I still do of course. My interest in other things has waned and my interest in pony has waxed. This can not be healthy. I am not joining the herd, I did that a long time ago, I'm merely making an account on this site. Hopefully I can favorite stories so that they are easier to find once I lose them. There are quite a few that were in the works that I forgot about or can't find. Maybe I'll post one or two things myself if I ever feel up to it.
Mostly I just didn't want my page empty if people visited it. Good day or night to you my friend.
