So I wrote a new story... · 5:43pm Mar 30th, 2014
... And it's another Human in Equestria fic.
Now just bear with me here, because I have two reason I wanted to do this.
Number one: I wanted to start writing again. Period, and honestly, I don't want to write the rest of Chronicles anymore. Not yet, anyways. I'm not saying it's cancelled, I do want to finish it one day. But honestly, the more I think about Chronicles, the more plot holes and absurd story elements I see in it, making me hate myself as a writer and ask myself "Why the hell did I think that was a good idea??" But anyways, I honestly wanted to start writing as a hobby again, because it's healthy to push my brain like this once in a while. Granted, my story's concept is a brain-dead one, and most of the chapters will have random events in them and have little to no thought put in the whatsoever, but I find that one of the hardest things about writing is sitting down and actually doing it. With this new story, I have more incentive to do that because I don't have to put as nearly as much thought or effort as I do while writing Chronicles. Now, I can write a thousand word chapter every week and still be happy about myself.
Number two: I wanted to write for a different audience. With Chronicles, I wanted to make the story abnormal to the other Human in Equestria fics out there by adding long chapters, problems between characters, a deeper main character that's not a brony and a butt load of tragedy. However, with this new story I'm writing more with the more traditional brony main character in mind. This means that I don't have to write as much shock factor when I bring the new character into Equestria as I did with Griffin in Chronicles and I don't have to re-introduce the mane six to the main character. That makes things a lot easier for me and cuts down a lot of the writing time I would normally have to put into a story like this.
Actually there is a third reason for me writing this, but I don't think it's as nearly as important as the other two: I wanted to have fun writing. With this new story, I hope to write a bunch of stupid, absurd and out of place moments that the main character will find himself in, leading to self discovery, perseverance and badass moments. This will be a ton of fun for me to write, and I hope it will be a joy for you guys to read as well.
