EDIT: Now knighty has said he is not going to blanket-delete all RP groups, just clean up problem threads. Crisis averted.
If you're reading this, you've probably seen knighty's blog post banning all RP on the site. No more, and every last bit is going to be deleted by 24 hours from now. How they'll find the groups to delete, I don't know, but it's happening. So yeah...
On behalf of all RPers on this site, this is what we call a nuclear option. And for us, this is bullshit.
I feel like I'm stuck in an early 90s high school movie, where I'm a kid who plays D&D and everyone gives me crap for it. As in the football team throwing me in a trash can. There are other people at school who play D&D too, but it doesn't make it suck any less.
If you don't RP, I don't have anything against you as long as you aren't blatantly disrespectful to RPers, but I just want to say RP is a hell of a lot of fun for those of us who do it. When I discovered it, I also discovered it was that much more fun than writing, because it's like written improv acting. The best times I spent on this site were when I was RPing.
For what it's worth, this site just lost value to me exponentially.
Maybe this will make me go back to writing, maybe it'll make me give up on FiMFiction entirely. I'm really not sure.

but you could always do RP on google docs, and Skype......
1936939 Both require you to already know who you want to be RPing with. They're closed groups, there's no way to find one you're interested in and jump in. And the infrastructure here is (was) perfect for forum-based RP. Neither Skype nor GoogleDocs has any such infrastructure.
I don't RP on FiMFiction, but I do on YouTube.
I feel bad for all you guys, this is really gonna take out a lot of fun stuff.
Please stay at least long enough to write a sequel to The Lunar Apprentice though. I loved that story.
