This story is a sequel to The Lunar Apprentice

Celestia won. Her Royal Guards defeated Nightmare Moon and her army of rogue Lunar Guards. The Shadowbolts were driven underground, and the Lunar Apprentice is dead. And what has victory brought?

Hell.

The Elements of Harmony are separated and useless. The renegade forces of the New Lunar Republic are hidden in the shadows, free to move and strike at will. Confidence in Celestia's rule has been shaken throughout Equestria. Half the Royal Guard is out of commission, and the changeling army is on its way.

Every loose thread is being pulled on; it's only so long before the tapestry unravels.

Celestia may have won the battle, but she also unleashed the Night Terrors. And Equestria may not survive them.

What does a warrior do when their leader is defeated? Out of loyalty to their master, they are supposed to commit suicide. But once in a while, one decides to become a ronin. They do not die with their master.

They avenge them.

Sometimes, one source of data isn't enough. Sometimes, another set of statistics is necessary to tell the whole story.

When Cloudsdale's water supply is contaminated by industrial runoff, chlorine seems like the natural choice for disinfection. Celestia sends four cars of it to the area, shipping via the Equestrian Railway. Now, chlorine is highly toxic, and, in nature, takes the form of a gas. And when the line breaks down at the one station between the two cities, you have a recipe for disaster.

Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle is preparing for a busy day of experiments. She's ready to log everything in her daily journal. But the sound of screeching metal interrupts her work, and she and all her friends head out to see the commotion.

Five months later, a decon team from Canterlot discovers Twilight's journal. Adding it to other documents they've recovered, they may be able to piece together just what happened during the Ponyville Quarantine.

This story will be told in the form of various documents (mainly Twilight's journal).

There are some moments which have special meaning, moments vivid both in imagery and emotion. These are the moments when music is the best form of expression.These are the moments when words are not enough.

A series of one-shots, each centered around a single moment in MLP: FiM. There will be anger, joy, regret, the whole spectrum, and a lot of heavy emotions especially. And who knows, you may even find some original lyrics! For convenience, I'll link to the song I'm using at the start of each fic.

Discord, for a master of chaos, was actually a very good planner. Despite the confidence that he would bring Equestria to its knees in mayhem, several millennia of experience had taught him to have a back-up, no matter what. And after watching from the sidelines as Princess Luna became Nightmare Moon, he knew he had found an ace in the hole. Despite his defeat, Discord's greatest trick was still to come.

You know what this means: Equestria's greatest Nightmare is back. And this time, she's not alone.

He had killed people, been a gun for hire, and his sanity was questionable by societal standards. But that was all in the past now. This new world held new opportunity for him. A fresh start. In 2011 A.D. (After Discord), a crack unicorn strategist was sent to Ponyville by Princess Celestia herself to learn about the magic of friendship. This unicorn promptly formed a group of maximum-ability friends from the population of Ponyville. Today, still under the command of Princess Celestia, they survive as ponies of fortune.
