My two cents on the Breezies episode (Spoiler Warning!) · 3:23pm Mar 2nd, 2014

So Fluttershy learns a lesson about misplaced kindness and how being too kind can actually hurt more than help someone. Sometimes its just pays to be firm in certain situations. While some might compare this episode to Putting Your Hoof Down, the difference in that episode is that Fluttershy took her assertiveness too far and acted like a schmuck to their friends. In this episode that wasn't the case for Fluttershy.

Kindness does take many different forms, yes, but their has to be a balance there. Either extreme either being too kind or too harsh is not good. I have to remember that important little fact.

Quote time:

Pinkie Pie: I love new ideas that make me feel funny at first!

That's funny. Some Bronies think the same thing, unlit that said idea becomes canon in the show. But that's another story...

Fluttershy: Oh, my goodness. I was just trying not to hurt any creature's feelings, but my displays of kindness may have cost you everything... [gasps] Time is running out, and you may never make it home!
Seabreeze: That is exactly what I have been telling all of them! But they do not listen to me! Nobreezie ever listens to me!
Fluttershy: Seabreeze, I understand your feelings are hurt, but it's hard for them to hear you when you're shouting and being mean. The message doesn't get across.
Seabreeze: But what about those bees? You were not nice to them, and that was the only way they listened!
Fluttershy: Yes, but they had to go, and they wouldn't listen to me any other way. We need to go, now!

There were good points in this dialogue, yes.

Seabreeze: You can do this! I am sorry for how I treated you before! It was not right that I called you names! I did not even really believe those things I said! I was worried we would never get back to our home, and I lashed out... I know you can do this! I believe in you! Hold on to me, let us join the group!

Well looks like Seabreeze learns a lesson IMO as well.

Like I said balance between kindness and being firm haves to be there or else it doesn't get the point across. And sometimes a little push will do it.

Kindness and generosity never triumph and are not rewarded.
