My Thoughts on Diamond Tiara and Prince Blueblood. · 9:15pm Mar 1st, 2014
Okay once again, do not have anything against MLP FiM, or the creators, writers, or voice actors. So getting that out of the way, I would like to rant about my thoughts on Dimond Tiara and Prince Blueblood.
Starting with Diamond Tiara. In short she's a snobby spoiled brat, granted, I guess that's what the writers were sort of aiming for. Now to dive into her character, it seems her one goal in life is to make other ponies feel miserable and below her, especially the CMC. I mean, come on, it's not like they are the only fillies that don't have cutie marks. She also hogs all the attention, and many examples have shown that she will do whatever it takes to get it. Now I've gotta ask, how did she get this way. The episode "Family Appreciation Day" showed her father, even though he is a rich pony, seems really nice. The only pony I haven't seen in her family is her mother. That could explain her rude behavior. But again, I would like to see them dive into her background to show how she got this way.
I mean, most bullies, seem to have a shadowed past that they rather not talk about, and I don't try to dive into it, but for the show they can approach how she got this way in many ways. One scenario would be the CMC investigating what Diamond Tiara does on a day to day basis when she's not bothering them. Now I know a lot of people would ask, wouldn't hanging out with them in the episode "Twilight Time" have covered that? No it wouldn't. They were just hanging out at the pool and nothing more. I am wondering where, Filthy Rich I think is her dad's name, is when the group of ponies outside the gate act like an angry mob. So, if they can make an episode of where we find out why Diamond Tiara is so stubborn and rotten, I'd be a happy camper.
Also, I am sure I've not been the only one to notice this, but, it seems as the show has progressed, a gap seems to have formed between Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon in their friendship. Two occurrences where it seems to show their friendship splitting is one, during the episode "Pinkie Pride" when Diamond Tiara is sitting at a table and singing, Silver Spoon comes out with a milkshake and Diamond Tiara tries to steal it. of course, Silver steals it back as she continues to sing and Diamond doesn't seem too pleased that her friend took back the milkshake.
Another occurrence is in the recent episode "Twilight Time" where when Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon are begging the CMC to take them along. Diamond Tiara keeps saying "me" instead of "we". It does seem that Silver Spoon is trying to keep the friendship going, but I am starting to wonder if Silver may turn over a new leaf and befriend the CMC if the show is starting to go in the direction of the two bullies no longer being friends. This could be another useful way of finding out more about Diamonds background. I still would like to see a potential episode where Silver Spoon loses her cutie mark and we see if the friendship of the two bullies really exists or if Diamond was using her the entire time to help her gain an edge on the CMC.
Well that's enough about Diamond Tiara, onto Prince Blueblood.
So, Prince I treat everypony like dirt beneath my hooves was only a season one occurrence, a cameo if you might say, and only made an appearance in two episodes. But his personality was of a long lasting memory not so easily forgotten. I mean his attitude seemed to tell everyone that all nobles act as if they are of a higher race, weather they be unicorn, pegasi, or earth pony. Now Filthy Rich seems to be an honest pony who earned his wealth, while I think a lot of nobles inherited theirs. Now I know that I'd be too quick to judge if I said all nobles were like Blueblood, for I am certain Twilight's family is of nobility somewhat, but they are a nice family as far as we can tell.
I'm getting off subject here. I am having a hard time believing Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are related to him. I mean for one he's a unicorn, and I don't remember any mention of Celestia having another mortal or immortal sister or brother. He certainly never gave any mention of Luna being his mother, which is also impossible since she was gone for a thousand years, and he doesn't look a day over 21, and there is no one else that..... Cadence?..... No, not her, she can't be his mother, she's far too young.... or is she? No, no, I don't think it's her, or Shining Armor might need an explanation and maybe a few pills to keep his anger low.
Anyways, I know this may sound wrong of me, but I want to see him in the spotlight again. I want Princess Celestia to tell us of her family relations or maybe an episode where Twilight finds something interesting about the Princesses and their royal family ties. Maybe we find out Twilight's family is actually a distant or not so distant relation to Princess Celestia. That might sum up a few gaps. The creators can definitely utilize that since they used genealogy in Pinkie Apple Pie. That would be interesting. I wonder how Twilight would react if she found out she was related to the Prince.
Oh, oh, now bare with me on this, but it would be hilarious if they made an episode of Twilight being betrothed to Prince Blueblood and Prince Blueblood trying to win her heart and then they try to find a way to keep that from happening. Now I know it's a kid show, and is meant to teach you a lesson about life, but just one little episode or two for comedic genius.
Okay, anyways, in an honest opinion, I do not like Blueblood, and only reason I would want him to come back is so he can get his flank hoofed to him, maybe let Discord have his fun. Oooh, might be interesting to see an episode where Blueblood convinces the nobles to kick Discord out of Equestria or turn him back to stone and try to frame him to do it, making him seek the help of the Mane Six and the Princesses. It would be a nice plot twist and lesson in friendship as well.
Well that's enough ranting on my part. Let me hear your opinions on Diamond Tiara and Blueblood, I like to hear what you can bring the table of your thoughts on them. Don't be shy.
if i had to hate the most DT or blue blood it be DT i-i just hate her what she did in ep 5 was un called for she in my option is a twisted little brat i would say she needs to die but.... maybe she will become the CMC'S friends at one point still waiting on that
