So, I was reading the comments on yesterday's chapter of How the Sunset Sparkles (thank you for all your comments, by the way, I always appreciate them) and a few people chose to talk about Prince Blueblood. Some of you liked the way he was presented, some of you didn't, Ben RG in particular wondered what might happen to him next.
And that got me thinking. Which isn't good. And then I wrote a plan.
So let me ask this question, hands in the air, how many of you would be interested in reading a short Blueblood focussed side-story beginning after he leaves Ponyville at (or near) the end of this last chapter and detailing what happens to him next? It wouldn't interfere too much with How the Sunset Sparkles, since it would only be a short fic (I say that about every fic I start but I mean it this time, the plan is a prologue and six chapters start to finish), and it might be good fun if I do it right. Plus it would allow me to develop his character a bit more, which some of you wanted.
So how many of you would be interested in reading that?
I hope I get more comments on this than I usually do on my blog posts, although I value the Albinocorn's judgement very highly (creep to my editor, creep, creep).
It would be interesting to see how much of his... er... 'attitude' he put on for Twilight's sake and how different he might be when he's not trying his rather useless attempt at charm.
It's pretty obvious that he'll scapegoat his servants for the crash-and-burn. I wonder if he's also going to to crying to 'auntie' about Rarity being mean to him... again.
You should probably stop that. My judgement will lead you down a path of ruination.
Buuuuut, if you really want my opinion... Hmm. Well, with the way things went, it got him out of Twilight's hair. But with an ending like that, if you don't feel a little pity, you have to at least be curious about what led him to have the desire to be so loved.
Adding him to the central plot could make things cluttered. So I would be in agreement with a stand alone story. Some sort of prologue followed by the date as seen through Blueblood's eyes (unless you want to make that the prologue in itself) and then the rest of the events. That way, anyone new can just jump on without being forced to read another story that has little to do with the plot of this one.
You know where to find me if you want more details, my little creeper.
Always needs to be more Blueblood stories. Not nearly enough good ones about him, jerk or not.
