What did I do wrong? · 3:03pm Feb 25th, 2014
As some of you may know, though apparently a lot of you don't, Titanfall comes out March 11, and I for one think it will be bananas. I played the beta, and am prepared to give all of my future children to Respawn Entertainment. I also felt inspired to write a crossover fic for it, based on a story I've extrapolated from the in game factions.
But it didn't go over too well. The story, Welcome to the Frontier, currently has 1 like to 4 dislikes. I wrote it best I could, and typos can't possibly explain this. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with it? I wanted to write a lot more, but now I'm kind of discouraged from doing so.
I can offer you a guess about where the down votes came from. Some haters will thumb down a genre they don't like without reading it, and cross overs get a lot of this. Mostly, this happens while your story is fresh on the front page, so the worst should be over.
Don’t let it get you down. Not everyone is going to like everything you write and not everything you write is going to be gold. Remember that 4 isn’t a very big number and like Jmac said a lot of people just kind of hate anything that has to do with FPS’s. If you like writing and want to write more then do it, don’t let four anonymous people stop you.
If you want some honest feedback then I’d be willing to read it and pm you an in depth opinion/critic of it. Understand that I won’t go easy because I like you, though.
